Yep. My cousin was working as an engineer for Boeing at that time. He said other engineers were taking the afternoon off to go "shopping" since they could go get free electronics during the riots. Scary stuff. Once something gets started, people just figure they will blend into the crowd. There's a "they can't get everyone" mentality that makes the odds seem in favour of not getting caught. People who wouldn't normally do this by themselves all of a sudden get brave. It kind of makes you wonder about what we'd act like without societal pressure. I wonder just how much of that was planned. Either they would have won it or lost it that night, and either way, the riots could have been blamed on the game. Emotions would have been running high. Good thing for security cameras. It's cost the province a lot of money, but I'm glad that people are finding they can't get away with things like this.

Consider it was his first year in the NHL on the big ice, with more travel and physical play and he successfully went through some personal adversity and came back strong in the play offs.... sounds like 3 million dollar keeper to me. I think he will only get better, and he was pretty good already. ...and he has a wicked nose!

I don't understand Doug Wilson. He hasn't changed anything in, what, 5-6 years? They haven't won and they haven't really even come close. I don't consider getting to the Conference Finals two years in a row with a 1-8 record being close. I remember when there were supposed to be big changes when they were eliminated from the Ducks in '09 in the first round. They aren't going anywhere. With the Pens, they have had better teams since '09 and they haven't really threatened. Granted, I think the only team in the East that could have beaten them last year was the Flyers and this year was the Bruins, but Bylsma's inability to adjust in a 7 game series is very telling. He is Erik Spoelstra of the Heat without the results...

I could definitely see him getting 2.5 or more elsewhere. Don't forget, quite a few (or at least a bunch) of teams were very, very interested in inking him. Didn't turn into an all-out bidding war, of course, but my rough impression is that that's because he was really keen on becoming a Wing. (Rose-colored retro-specs? Perhaps.) The guy scored for us, was part of the minor revelation that was The Kid Line, showed he definitely belongs in the NHL, and will only get better. I do hope we can keep him. P.S. Another plus: he's a Red Wing - and he didn't get injured! (!!!) (!!!!!) (!!!!!!!!!!!)

You do know that Hossa is the best salesman in the NHL, right? It's not just fans on a message board, it's the players calling him out. But I guess they don't know anything about the game either, right? I think a better definition of pathetic is coming to a Wings board when we're no longer playing and "defending" your team. Why do you care what a bunch of Wings fan say, anyway? We're not even in the same conference anymore. You don't have to worry about Detroit until if you make the SCF. And while you're at it, why don't you guys try and come up with something else to chant at your games before you all redefine "pathetic."
