I hate that parents feel an immense need nowadays to overprotect their children, to the point where normal children games are being banned in schools, and a parent starts a protest about a school cause their kid scraped their damn knee. Get over it, boys will fight each other, play football, dodgeball, and insult each other, they are not china dolls, and a few scrapes and bruises won't kill them. Also please take your kids damn ipads and cell phones away from them and make them go outside, please. -

So, apparently people are equally as up in arms about the Team Canada jerseys, and thus--SadTeamCanadaToews was born: Naturally, people are managing their disappointent in the only way they know how--photoshop. -
1 pointWe won, 3-1. Anaihbdetsjwou with two goals, Sheahan with one. Paterson was sort of hung out to dry on the Wild's lone goal. Up next (today!): Dallas. I guess they're heavily favored, or something.

X Factor Part Deux
Dabura reacted to Motown4013 for a post in a topic
I could have went with the youth movement- Danny D would have been my rookie X factor but honestly, the key to a young defensive Corp is leadership. Keeping with that theme, I chose the guy that needs to be leader on that back end so Kronner got my vote. I think Kronwall has all the skills to be a great defenseman. I don't think I am off the mark by saying the majority on the boards, including myself saw 55 fall a bit short on taking over the number 1 last year. If he can be the player everyone is waiting him to become, Kronwall has to be the X factor. He needs to lead my example and to do that, he has to find his natural game again. That means generating a solid breakout pass, quick puck movement, contributing offense and the" super kronwalls" that put a little fear in the opposition who like to skate with their head down. Last year he had a tendency to hesitate. He also let the puck get behind him a bit too much which lead to unfortunate penalties. He has to be better....and I think he will. Imagine if you take the best Kronwall And allow him to teach a guy like Smith use his body and his hockey sense? If he can teach Q to find that tiny opening in the slot. Teach Kindl how to take a hit and not give away the puck. If that happens, I don't think we have an issues with the back end. That's why I think Kroonner is the x factor this year. -

A few points. 1. I'd like to see 3 strong scoring lines with 1 shut down line. 2. Sammy is probably going to play whether people like it or not. 3. Strongest players should play center if available. Just because you center the 3rd line doesn't mean you're getting third line minutes. 4. How can you not start out with some kind of form of a Swedish 5 with Olympics upcoming? Nyquist Zetterberg Alfredsson Franzen Datsyuk Bertuzzi Tatar Weiss Samuelsson Abdelkader Helm/Andersson Tootoo/Miller Kronwall Ericsson Kindl Dekeyser Smith Quincey -

X Factor Part Deux
TheDetroitRedWings reacted to GoWings1905 for a post in a topic
This one is easier for me than the forwards. For me, it is DeKeyser easily. I think the Red Wings beat the Blackhawks with a healthy DeKeyser. Their forecheck gave the Red Wings fits and DeKeyser's speed/puck-moving ability was something the Red Wings really lacked in that series defensively. His poise and steadiness really solidified the defense at the end of last season. -

Process of the catch needs to go. Go back to the ball breaking the plane of the goal. -
1 pointWe saw this on "Olbermann" and laughed our heads off. This goes along with the "Figthing Irish" cups at Notre Dame. And at least it's not the Pervs. That could be rather embarassing. First it was Mike Fisher getting bit by a chipmunk, and now this. Nashville is in dire need of some decent PR.

Zetterberg- Datsyuk- Bertuzzi Franzen- Weiss- Alfie Nyquist- Anderson- Tatar Abby- Helm-Miller/Eaves/Sammy Kronners- Ericsson Dekeyser- Smith Kindl- Quincy - I think this will make the team as balanced as possible. - Bert, as long as he is healthy, is better than Abby on the top line with Pavs and Hank. Bert is a bigger body, and is able to create more space for the Eurotwins. Also, Bert is a very good passer, and can contribute with goals. I think that this can be a very good 1st line if Babs keeps them together given we still have a really good 2nd line. - I really am looking forward to seeing this 2nd line play. It has all the potential to be one of the top 2nd lines in the league, and Alfie is going to be super hungry. I see big things from this line. - In the playoffs, our 3rd line was fantastic and at times was our best line. We are going to essentially replace Brunner with Tatar, which is not a bad thing considering what we know and have seen from Tatar. Anderson developed himself into a solid 3rd line center last year, and Nyquist and Tatar will add a nice element of speed and skill. This will be a fun line to watch and could become one of the better 3rd lines in the league. - Our 4th line will see a HUGE upgrade this season assuming Helm is back and fully healthy. Add Abby who has some grit and knowledge of the game, and Miller/ Eaves, and you have a solid 4th line capable of doing their job well. - Kronners and Ericsson were great last year, no reason to change that. I would like to see Kronners shoot the puck more this season tho. - Danny D was fantastic when he played for us, and Smith could really benefit from having that solid defense presence playing with him... I would like to give this a try. - Kindl had a a developing year last season with his offense, but still needs to work on his defense. Quincy really settled down after the 10 game mark last year and played a solid season. I think this is a capable 3rd pairing. Overall, I think this is our best group of forwards since 2009 when we were STACKED and I am super excited to watch this season. Come on Oct. 2nd!! -
1 pointThey could be wearing purple barney tank tops and they'd still rotate any team upside its head.

Nashville Perds
MabusIncarnate gave a reaction for a post in a topic
We've catastrophically unbalanced the ecosystem by killing off most of the perdators. Indeed, the lack of perdators allows the Michigan deer population to grow nearly unchecked. -
