Tre Kronor is the team to beat, easily. Sorry folks, but I'll be cheering for them. The way Team USA 's management has acted has just really put me off.

Would be an amazing lineup if Czechoslovakia was still one country. Kind of like Yugoslavia's soccer team, if that country still existed.

The thing is, 4 flying lines are not needed a top 6 bottom 6 approach is the way to go. The first two lines are going to have an unreal amount of speed, but the third and fourth line don't need to provide that they should be role players. Who cares if other teams are better skaters, clock up the middle and check everything that moves done by the third and fourth line. Having said that, at the end of the day this is their roster and we'll see how well they are doing on the bigger ice.

You've got to be careful about that though because while Canada's got (easily) the best NHL roster, the international game is totally different. For instance: There are far fewer penalties in the international game. So guys who have tons of PP points in the NHL are going to be less effective when that's factored in. Also, guys who are the recipients of good systems play and/or really good linemates in the NHL are going to be less effective at the Olympics. So, for instance players for a team like Boston who's system is almost completely formulated for the NHL game, might not play so well internationally. Obviously, these limitations are the same for every team in the Olympics, but it's not simply as cut and dry as looking at guys who are studs in the NHL and assuming that they'll work well together in Sochi. In my opinion, and admittedly it's just mine, the teams that play a full 60 minute game do better in the Olympics. Fast teams that keep the pressure on tend to perform well which is why not an Olympics goes by when some team like the Czecks or Slovaks don't upset somebody with a far better NHL caliber roster because they out skate them.

Favorite things about Team USA: Tenacity and Swagger. These guys are lean and mean. It's like playing a whole team of Tomas Tatars, except some of our Tatars are as big and mean as David Backes.

Some glaring oversights. I can only imagine what the press up there is ranting about at this very moment. Also, if Croatia had qualified, Lucic could play, right? That would be fun to see.

Our goalies are representing! Very proud of them both. I would say Team Sweden has a very good chance at a medal, possibly Gold.

    If we become sellers...

If the Wings missed playoffs, I could only see them trading Alfie if he was sure he'd retire after the season. And only if he asked. And for the people who want to tank and rebuild: why? Is getting one player worth delaying a Cup for multiple years? With a core of Dassyuk, Zetterberg, Kronwall and Howard we need only to find the right pieces to be contenders again. Especially if the kids really do pan out the way we hope thongs will be fine. We as fans just lose patience because the CBA has all but killed trading and so we can only get pieces through annual free agencies.

    If we become sellers...

I love how everyone comes in here and berates the OP by saying things like, it'll never happen, get real, he has a NMC, and everything else they can sling at him to attempt to belittle or make fun of him. All while the thread is IF we become sellers, hypothetically if the Wings miss the playoffs, what kind of return would you expect for Alfie. If you don't feel like playing along, then don't leave your negative comment, just don't comment at all...thanks. oh, and the NMC...Alfie signed here to win a Cup, if the Wings miss the playoffs and a favorite came calling for Alfie's availability, don't think for a minute that he wouldn't waive his clause to get that chance at a Cup. He'd be gone before you could spell Howe...

    24/7 Episode 4 Discussion

Somebody said something funny in that last episode. Unfortunately, by the time the thing ended, my brain had atrophied and I forgot what it was. Final assessment: Wings fans are gonna think, "Too much Leaf stuff!" Leaf fans are gonna think, "Too much Wing stuff!" Dan Cleary going back out after losing ten teeth confirms that hockey players are truly badass people. I don't care what they do, dull or not, looking at Wings is fun and makes me happy.

    Datsyuk vs. Zetterberg

Zetterberg plays without Dats in the team and he gets Alfredsson and Nyquist on his wing, Dats gets Abby and Bert.

Google it. I don't want to have to be the first person in LGW history to have to back up a post with facts.
