Just my thoughts: I hear what you're saying, but frankly, I like that she's not perfect, and that I don't like everything about her. Living outside of Michigan for the last 15 years, seeing Karen Nueman makes me smile, just like Mickey, the Bud Lynch announcement, and the Belle Tire commercials. She sings well, she's more Birmingham than Hollywood, she's part of the family. Just like Larry Murphy was a real guy as opposed to a polished tv personality.

People really need to relax with this whole mentality that the grass is always greener on the other side. I much prefer Babcock's theory that the devil you know, is better than the devil you don't. As much as I want to get rid of Kindl, it's because I think there are better options within the organization, not because he has played god awful. He really isn't near as bad as many people make him out to be. I think a trade would be good for the team, as well as for Kindl. I think he could really flourish in another system, where he can play more of an offensive minded game. Also, regarding all the "upgrades" available over Quincey. I don't think any of them are really an upgrade, other than Yandle and Burns. The rest, I would take Quincey every time. Quincey is a very durable, reliable defenseman, and is well deserving of his current contract. He is a great middle pairing defenseman for us while we're waiting for some of our younger guys (DeKeyser / Smith) to take on bigger roles and our prospects (Ouellet, Sproul, Jensen, Marchenko) to mature and take the next step. kliq, Sproul hasn't played great this season but he is playing better than his point totals would suggest. I think he will start to produce a little more, hopefully after Christmas. He still has a ton of work to do, and definitely isn't ready for the big show yet, but I'm still confident he will be a big time player for us in a few years.

Right, there was a lot of people upset when Cleary was signed. I didn't see how a 1 year $1.5 Million deal for a guy who's done a lot for the organization was a bad move. It's better for Cleary to be a healthy scratch then a young player who can get playing time in Grand Rapids. It allows Cleary to leave the game with his head held high, instead of being kicked to the curb. Also it shows the Red Wings are a classy organization.

The Millers

Because a part of rebuilding is learning how to win. You don't do that by throwing all the kids in the lineup at once. That's hoe you get the Edmonton Oilers. And why would Holland put kids in over two players sitting in the press box every night? They get playing time in GR. Cleary and Andersson are doing great at keeping the press box warm. I definitely agree with having XO in the lineup. And that time will come sooner rather than later. But what happens if Kindl or Lashoff are dumped and we suddenly get a couple injuries on the blueline? Screwed, is what.

I think that quietly Jurco had a really good game, probably his best of the season

Dang, Pulkkinnen was highly criticized just 2 years ago as a boom or complete bust type prospect. Scouts questioned his skating and his work ethic. I guess he is continuing to go out of his way to shut them up. Love this kid. He's got lunch pail work ethic and top notch talent written all over him.

I love the replay because it shows just how fast he is too.

Then they'll discover lingering scar tissue from a sports hernia surgery and he'll miss even more time. Then someone will spot him dog-sledding in Europe.

Weiss looked good. You can see that he is getting stronger on the puck and playing better overall each game.

Pretty much looks like this place when we lose

Man, this team is good. Obviously we still have our stupid players and stupid moments, but the good is outweighing the bad. And tons of young guys are NHL ready right now playing in the AHL. We're in good shape.

Wings are within a point of the top spot in the east. [sarcasm] We should have tanked it for sure. [/sarcasm] The kids are playing great. The vets are playing great. This wasn't a excellent all around effort, but we did what we needed to do to win.

It's crazy that this is just now Dekeyser's 100th game. He plays like someone with a lot more experience than that, especially given the minutes he gets. The Wings are lucky to have him.
