Yes, you have had an irrational dislike for Franzen for some time. At least you're consistent. But we will not lose "some good prospects". Franzen is one person, taking one roster spot. We will lose, at most, one prospect. Not anyone I would call good either, but whatever.

Seems to me at this point that Franzen will be ready to start on the roster this fall. So all you "I hate Franzen, but feel bad for his booboos" sell outs better be ready for my pro-Franzen sh**-storm. You turned on him and now this is what you get

Soooo you DON'T have a source or anything for this "Franzen was included in Phaneuf trade" non-sense... If Franzen is healthy he deserves to be on the opening roster. He's been consistent over the years for what his cost is and at most will cost us the risk to waive a Callahan/Ferraro/Andersson. But yes that's a big IF.

Franzen's .75 points per game that he consistently provided over the past 7 seasons are easily replaceable by any number of prospects. Kindly place him in the dumpster where he belongs, with the rest of the refuse.

Just noticed this and Pulkkinen is not one of the guys at risk. If anything, a healthy Franzen creates a battle for the 14th forward spot between Andersson, Callahan and Ferraro. Why in the world would Holland put a guy like Pulkkinen on the chopping block before Callahan or Ferraro?

This is very clear, you talk about him in pretty much EVERY post.

I really hope there's room for Jurco on the third line this year and that he does well. I liked the way he played in the playoffs. With skilled linemates and more minutes his point totals have to go up. I can't see Franzen being shipped out. It's just not the Red Wing way. He pretty much willed us to a Stanley Cup let's not forget

If *cough* Franzen retires *cough* then we get stuck with *cough* a very large cap recapture penalty. *cough* *cough*So *cough* that's a terrible *cough* idea.*cough *

Hey guys, look... another nice piece on Jurco and his challenges from last season and what he's looking to do this season: http://redwings.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id=770222 I mean, unless useless head-case Franzen keeps him out of the line up.

So it must be done... We must murder Franzen... It's the only way

...b-b-b-but I don't want to lose or trade ANY prospects!!!!!

I'd be happy with waiving Andersson anyway.

I agree, however I don't blame the owner. The owner is operating in a system which allows him to conduct business like this. Why does he get to operate like this? because at the end of the day we allow it. An owner worth billions can't afford a multi-million stadium? Doesn't make sense. I'd love to see our tax dollars not go to this arena, It's been shown that successful sports don't boost a city. Detroit should exhibit A in that department. If people get mad about it... it will change. But for the most part we're all just excited to get a new arena. Arena combat was and is the glory of Rome.

I remember reading similar type interviews with Tats when he was pushing for roster spot and negotiating last summer. I think its a combo the translation and I also I think Jurco is just being honest in his assessment of the situation.

All joking aside. Drinking and driving is a serious and dangerous activity. Let's hope that the punishment and public embarrassment is enough to deter him from doing it in the future.

For anyone interested, I started a blog to follow the construction progress of the new arena, via my drone. http://wingsarena.tumblr.com

Children look to the left- in the cage next to the lion you will find Brian McGrattan a rare and almost mythical creature. Not unlike a unicorn, with giant balls the size of anvils and the strength of 10 men. This poor soul couldn't survive in the wild due to a lack of prey. So the humane society relocated him to Anaheim in an effort to save this rare species by mating him with Tim Jackman. If all goes according to plan, the world will ones again be populated by these magnificent beasts.

The only way this sentence could be more Canadian, is if it said "sorry aboot that" somewhere in there.

But he wasnt in the open market. Obviously if he was a ufa He would've gotten more, but he was an rfa an He signed A bridge deal that buys two ufa Years, with the two remaining rfa years. He didn't really leave money on the table, hell be making 5million/yr In his ufa years. That's about Market value for what he's done so far. His playoff performances also changes the Money, had he been scoring at the same Rate in there playoffs as he had during the regular season, he would've gotten more... He still has quite a bit to prove before he hits ufa.
