Thank hell. He needs a suspension at least. It's not a coincidence he's hurt two opposing players tonight. And it's not the first time he's done it. I hope he gets beaten bloody playing against a team with the wrong guy on the bench. Emelin trying s*** with Nielson now. WTF?

Emelin needs to be taken out by someone... that two of our players he's intentionally injured or tried to hurt just this game.

Our bench is getting smaller... the remaining Wings need to step on the go-go peddle in the 4rd and do this! Petr is holding up his end of the bargain, so to speak. Or three, or a month, or LTIR... you know how it goes with us.

Emelin deserves to be taken down and hurt. I know that's not classy but it's true.

Larkin back on the bench... Jeez Louise, that kid is tough.

So two weeks for Howard now? Will we finally get to see Coreau start a game? Hope so! Agreed.
  14. 2 points
Agreed, especially after the hit on Bert.

yep, I wouldn't believe it myself, had I not seen it. Same happened 2 seasons ago when both Jimmy and Monster got injured and Mrazek had to step it up and, ...we all know the rest. It just sucks that Howard gets these setbacks when he's playing well
  17. 2 points
He was supposed to start tonight regardless

Thats exactly the Mrazek we need tonight.

I think that's going a bit far. Petr has shown great stretches beyond that one month and recovered in the playoffs. I also think he's been good this year - just a few bad games. I think it's quite a lot for people to expect him to be a consistently good at this point. Price, Varlamov, even Hasek (and I'm sure many others) took a few years to establish themselves as consistent starters. Mrazek's only actually been on the NHL roster for just about 1.75 years now

    What to do about Vanek

I personally want to re-sign Vanek, but only AFTER the expansion draft. My comment had nothing to do with European, I was knocking Holland. I've been Vanek at the Disco from July 1st.

Lol right. I'd watch a Red Wings game live at a Vegas venue in a heart beat.

How beastly can you be when you're on injured reserve?

Grand Rapids wouldn't have enough support to sustain an NHL team. Too many would be Wings fans first and GR fans second. Like I've said before, Vegas is going to flop. Too many residents work nights and/or don't make a lot of money, and it's too much of an event town. People go there to gamble and party, not see a hockey game. Sure, hotels and casinos might buy a ton of season tickets and a few suites as promotional stuff, but most of them would likely to go unused. The Coyotes might work now that they're moving back to Phoenix, but it's 50-50 at best. Winnipeg I think will fail once the novelty of having "their Jets" back wears off. I think Atlanta could have worked if they had been winning, and it disgusts me how quick Buttman moved them after refusing to let the Coyotes move for years. Miami has troube supporting anyone other than the Dolphins, unless the Heat are winning, I don't see the Panthers having long term success there. The Lightning have a decent core group of fans, but they're always going to struggle too. The reality is that there aren't 30 cities with enough hockey fans to support them all. It's too much of a niche sport, and a lot, if not most, minorities think it's just a white boy sport. The other issue is that unlike basketball or soccer where you need a ball and a place to play, it's expensive to get into. Kids who play grow up to be the fans. No kids playing, not as many fans.
