End of 1st. Devils lead 2-1. Got off to an ideal start, had the Devils on their heels, pissed away the momentum, played stupid hockey. Scrambling, chasing the play, losing races to pucks, losing puck battles, not stopping on pucks, not quick enough with our first passes, passing up every good shooting opportunity we get in Kinkaid's kitchen. And Mrazek looks drunk.

They barely have a concept of defense at all.

The C is not Abby's. I'm genuinely surprised that people think this will be a thing. I guess time will tell which of us is right. (Srsly tho, I'm right. )

This is what kills me about this team. Every night we're here doing our part, drinking our booze, putting the time in. We're doing all the heavy lifting here. Wings just have to score some goals and they can't even do that. Lazy bums.

They're also exceptionally quick and aggressive in closing in on our puck carriers when we're in their end. I'll drink to that! *pretends he hasn't been drinking for the past hour*

The possibility that krsmith laid out is a very real possibility, yours is not. 2nd bold: Fair enough, but I am basing my concern on what I am already seeing. I see Frk, a still developing forward, being placed on the 4th line. I BELIEVE that that is not the best way to manage him. I know there a lot of others who would agree with that. I think he would be better off off playing with better caliber forwards farther up in the lineup. If I believe that Frk is being mishandled, would it not also be reasonable to think that other prospects could be as well? A very real possibility based on a combination of both fact and opinion. You can disagree if you want, but that doesn't mean that my opinion/concern is without merit. It's insulting to say otherwise. 3rd bold: I agree to some extent. However, this team has SOME defensemen on it that would make better partners for developing players. Not all of them are bad. So, why not pair the better ones with the kids? Seems logical, right? What's not logical is to argue that a student will always turn out the same regardless of who the teacher is. If you're a parent, would you rather have your kid taught in the classroom with the "Teacher of the Year" with a proven track record of success or a teacher whose history shows them to be mediocre at best? Would you expect the same outcome by that analogy? I wouldn't, but based on your analogy there has to be some bad teachers, right? So I guess we shouldn't care what teacher our kids get then because they're going to turn out however they turn out no matter what? And if they get bad grades, it can't be the teacher, right? They're just a dumb kid. And maybe that's not "mismanaging", but I know I would be p****d if my kid didn't get the best teacher they could and their "development" suffered for it. Why should I feel any differently about the "kids" on this team?

Agreed. Kind of like the time Toews had a temper tantrum against us in the playoffs and was melting down in the box and Seabrook came over and had a talking to him like a parent to a child. Im sure Towes would credit Seabrook with being a good leader in that moment. So I guess the moral here is that Toews sucks.

100% the next GM is going to get chewed out by krsmith, dickie, marcatac, frank, leftwinger, bill berzeench and all the other anti-holland crew. Gonna be the next Babcock/Blashill situation except Holland/New GM It will take 2-3 years though. So if Holland leaves in 2018 come back in 2021 and grab your popcorn. While I do think Holland should step down (or step up), my expectation of the next GM is not much. Even if Yzerman were to come here I am not expecting him to land a defenseman (that will end up working out) via trade. At all. I mean yeah maybe we could end up getting Trouba with new GM. But if Kipwinger is correct Trouba could end up not even being that good. Which would mean the trade was useless. So the question would be, was Holland a genius for avoiding the move and is the new GM an idiot for not seeing it? So many hypotheticals it's getting juicy.
