Sorry, that was a poor attempt at humor. I am actually a very funny guy. Unfortunately, my development as a comedian was mismanaged. Stevie's nickname is "The Captain" for a reason. I would dare to say he is the best example of a captain in NHL history. Even now, he is the prototype that any player in any sport should emulate their leadership after. No one will remember in 20 years that Toews was ever a captain.

He's actively trying to sell. Had an agreement with someone this summer, but apparently the guy couldn't raise the money. I think someone's going to buy them, move them west, then shortly after we'll get a QC expansion.

Valid statement. However, as typical, follow the money and the relationships. I see the Canes being relocated being a tough battle for the NHL/Bettman. Karmanos (who owns the Canes) has pretty deep hockey ties to the NHL/Bettman. Phoenix on the other hand, I much more could see happening. Their primary ownership is a hedge fund manager and doesn't have the history or relationship pull as Karmanos does. Just as Bettman finally gave in to Mr. I and putting us in the Eastern Conference due to Mr. I's status as an owner, commitment to his product, AND being a good sport in letting his team taking a beating in terms of traveling all over the West Coast for years. Not to mention the TV revenue that was lost as many sponsors didn't want to buy ad packages with the Wings due to the fact that many of their games started at 9-10 PM local time, and didn't end till after midnight. The reasoning was that the Wings were always a HUGE draw on the West coast and sold TONS of tickets across West coast arena's for regular season games. I firmly believe factors and scenarios like this figure into the discussions and decisions in the back rooms of the NHL executive offices.

Well hopefully we can light up Niemi. He’s had one good game this season, his last start they lost in OT. 5.50 GAA or something and no wins.

Second TKO of the season. There's a difference. I think a power forward does need to fight. Calling someone like Ovechkin or Franzen a power forward confuses the definition of what a power forward was branded in the 90's, with guys like Stevens, Tocchet, Shanahan, and Neely.

Toews is 29 and produces at a worse rate than 37 year old Zetterberg. Just putting it out there that he's a trash player. If anyone thinks otherwise, take the TSN Media hype glasses off. And the "well he's a defensive player" excuses won't work. Datsyuk and Zetterberg and Kopitar are/were phenomenal defensive players that scored well over a PPG. Toews can't do it because he sucks. I don't even think Toews is at Kopitar's level. I think he was at some point years ago but it's safe to say Kopitar has maintained his level of play while Toews has simply fallen off. Toews is the next Dustin Brown of hockey. But at least Brown is making a comeback.
