If only there was a way to block all IP Adressess from Fullerton California. Anyway, even though I'm a fan of AA, if he, in some sort of package, brought us someone like Trouba, id have to do the deal. I hope AA stays and become a top line sniper, but we need D. Imagine getting Dahlin then making a deal for Trouba! Mia? Nah, I prefer Shakira. Plus we see which team she prefers!

Agreed. Bright spots: Green, Daley Problem children: Kronwall, Ericsson, Dekeyser Useless: Ouellet, Jensen, Lashoff Kids: Hicketts, Cholowski, Hronek, Sulak Green and Daley were the only two Dmen on this team I was truly pleased with this past season. And I think it speaks volumes that the 2 FA acquisitions are our best Dmen. The Red Wings have either been very unlucky in the draft or can no longer develop D-men to save their lives. But I digress. I think both should be kept on as building blocks for this D-group. Kronwall is nearing the end. If he does continue to play he'll probably see severely reduced ice time again. We can not rely on him or his busted knees to be a building block anymore. Dekeyser and Ericsson are both massively overpaid for what they provide. I'd love to move them out, but were probably just going to have to deal with the both of them for a good while. Don't have much to say about Ouellet, Jensen, and Lashoff. They are the new Kindl, Smith, Marchenko group. Usable, but don't provide any value. THESE are the types of players that should be cut out in favor of a young player like Hicketts or Sulak. So the core I'd like to realistically see going forward: Daley - Green Ericsson - Dekeyser Kronwall - Hicketts With Kronwall transitioning into retirement in the next season or two and Hicketts representing a young player being rotated in. Once Kronwall is gone, we hopefully can successfully rotate a second young player like Cholowski in. If we do successfully rotate two young players into this D over the next 2 or 3 seasons, then at that time we should seriously consider getting rid of Ericsson or Dekeyser as well.

    Hronek

Griffins played their final regular season game last night. Hronek put up four points, including a pretty goal. He finishes the regular season with 11 goals, 28 assists, and a +24 rating through 67 games.

He's also been actively coaching for more than 20 years, which will pad that win column a fair bit. There is no reason whatsoever a team consisting of that roster over in Chicago should miss the playoffs under any situation. I think Quennville is a product of his environment moreso than he is a contributor. I said he was overrated 5 years ago and I maintain that today.

    Dennis Cholowski

He will definitely be joining the team, but will he crack the lineup? Hopefully, but there's no guarantee... There's already way too much of a log jam on the Griffins defense as it is, with Hicketts, McIlrath, Renouf, Russo, Sulak, Hronek, Lashoff and Saarijarvi... Lashoff was a healthy scratch for Sulak the other night. Hopefully Renouf or Russo will be a healthy scratch once Cholowski is up with the team... Rasmussen and the Americans will play the Silvertips starting on Friday. I'm kind of hoping they lose that series so Ras can play with the Griffins as well... While they're stacked on D, they could definitely use the help up front, after losing Lorito and Turgeon, and Bertuzzi not being sent down. Seeing what Rasmussen can do in the AHL playoffs could go a long way in determining whether or not he will make the Wings out of camp this fall.

Having said all this, I still think Datsyuk has a good chance of getting his number retired Objectively, Datsyuk’s situation is worse. But if you want touchy feely subjectivism then yeah, Fedorov hurt the butts more.
