In 71 games. About the same rate as Nyquist. Also a better rate than Larkin in his 2nd season. Who scored 32 in 80 games. Who was also a -28. (Holy s*** that’s terrible). You’re* move. There is literally no statistical baseline to turn on AA like some of you have. It’s premature, like it or not. If he sucks after enough games, I’ll join the party. Until then he’s a whipping boy to feed everyone’s insecurities. Veleno and Rasmussen are on deck for it.

Yeah, the defensive core is still looking rather bleak, but I'm hopeful that McIsaac can climb into that top 10 after this season. And maybe one of Cholowski or Hronek can develop into a top pair defenseman we do desperately need. I still haven't given up on Svechnikov, but he's reminding me more and more of Jurco. All the skill in the world, but unable to put it all together at the NHL level. I'll still say the same thing I said about Jurco though. He'll be a very good middle six winger... hopefully. I honestly forgot about Hicketts when i did my ranking. He still wouldn't crack my top 10, but he'd probably be in my top 15... maybe.

Another hot take, especially considering the players we've picked in that time. I'm just happy that Larkin AND Rasmussen will be better than Yzerman, Fedorov, Lidstrom, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, and co. Exciting times. My question is, if Zadina isn't as good as Ras, will he at least be as good or better than some of the other scrubs mentioned?

IDK why this comparison keeps getting made. Goose and AA are not similar at all IMO. Mantha is probably the best comparison. Two young goal scorers with tremendous talent,both of whom have been flanked by compete/effort issues resulting in a perceived one-dimensional game. I think Mantha is rounding out his game already. His work in front of the net this past season was much better than the season prior. To me, it looks like he's taken to heart some lessons and is trying to expand his game. I want the same for AA now. Take that speed, take that stick work, and build it into something the Red Wings can use on every shift. This will be a crucial season for him.

I swear to God some of the player valuations around here are insane. I wish we were all NHL general managers. I'd fleece you fools daily. I'd start by trading Jacob Trouba to KRS for whatever haul he would gladly part with, and then laugh all the way to the bank as Trouba's already modest offense dried up completely in Detroit. I'd trade Faulk to Jonas for Mantha and Detroit's 1st (likely to be a lottery pick no less). I'm not sure what I'd trade for Nyquist and AA, but given that half of LGW are willing to part with them for peanuts I suspect I'd win that one too.
