Considering what SY got for Mantha, I would expect another overpayment for Bertuzzi.

Dubas loves lateral moves

Not sure Bertuzzi is any better than Hyman. If they lose the latter and gain the former I think it's basically a lateral move.

I'm willing to bet Tronna was prepared to overpay for him. Why? Because he's appealing to both stats nerds (Team Dubas) and more old-school types (many Leafs fans and Canadian pundits). I honestly think he could be a godsend for a team that has high-skill scorers but lacks all-situations Swiss Army knife junkyard dogs. (BAH GAWD THAT'S KEN HOLLAND'S MUSIC!) If next season he picks up right where he had left off, and if we're still clearly not a playoff team...I think he gets traded. And I don't think we'd end up missing him all that much. At least, not in the short term. Cuz we're gonna be fapping ourselves raw over the talent at the top of next year's draft class. Oh, and Seider's gonna be stacking bodies like Rambo.

I don't see the need for Hyman. Decent RH winger, but he's 29 and doesn't play center. Would rather re-sign Ryan and try to flip him at the TDL. That leaves room for Bert, Vrana, Zadina, and Raymond on the top 2 lines next year.

They can hope all they want, but Ron Francis isnt going to take anybodys dead weight without compensation.

I think it closes after the expansion draft. Teams are hoping they can unload their buyout candidates through the exp. draft first I think

A friend of mine that's a Toronto fan, was theorizing: Bert and the 22nd pick for Morgan Reilly Not a trade I'd make personally. ____________ I hope we target the 9th overall pick from Vancouver... I think it could be had for 22 and cap relief. That way we can get our skater and goalie at 6 and 9. Thoughts?

But he is not afraid to trade for them either, thankfully. Maybe he'll turn Zadina into another Sergachev at some point.
