Teams should only add key pieces at the trade deadline when they are overburdened with huge contracts and they have lots of young players. Only when Marco Kasper is 33 will we truly be ready for a deep playoff run. I told you guys adding DeBrincat was stupid. I told you adding Kane was stupid. And now look where we are. Dead last in the league. We have destroyed the rebuild. Any hope we had at a Cup window is lost forever. This is why you do not aggressively add key pieces until Marco Kasper is 76. -

Word around the campfire is YzerMAN traveled down to Grand Rapids just to fart on Berggren. Walked into the locker room, told Kasper he's not playing tonight, and crop dusted the Swede on the way out. Incredible. -

The same articles states that Dubas has made clear he wants "premium prospects" (rather than picks) in any trades. LOL I bet he does. Dubas: Hello fellow GMs, just letting you all know the Pittsburgh Penguins are open for business and ready to make the most of the trade deadline. Just a reminder, I'm only really interested in the best prospects you have in your farm systems. GMs: Okaaaay, well what do YOU have to trade. Dubas: Well I've got injured forty goal scorer Jake Guentzel on an expiring contract. GMs: ....crickets... Dubas: Oh...um...not your flavor huh? You'd prefer someone with term eh? How about 33 year old former All-star Erik Karlsson? He's got term. Three more seasons...cough...at $11.5 million dollars...cough cough. GMs:.... Dubas: Alright, no takers eh? Well surely you'd be willing to trade your premium prospects for Marcus Pettersson right? He's young, has term and a manageable cap hit, and he on pace to have a career best season with 30...uhhhh...30 points. Definitely worth one of your top guys no? GMs: Look, I could use a little scoring and I'm feeling charitable. What would you take for Rust. I mean, he's injured and under contract until he's 40, but I'd like to win a Cup this year. Dubas: He's not for sale. GMs:... -

The Trade Bait listing as of today https://www.tsn.ca/tsn-hockey-s-trade-bait-board-1.2079080 Question why not just wait till summer to see if you can woo UFA's to your team especially if you are in our scenario. We aren't yet built for a long cup run quite yet IMHO. -

Holland should have gone for it. All in instead of half-azzing it. Would have beat Tampa instead of losing in 7 and maybe end up as cup finalists instead of the lightning. Just like Stevie should GO FOR IT this year! -

Okay now HERES the trade: To DET: Will Borgen To SEA: Berggren + 3rd Borgen is a 6'3" RHD that plays 4th spot for Seattle, 2nd unit PK, is 27, and locked up for another year at $2.7. Hes on pace for 30 pts with no PP time this year. Ive been a fan of this kid since his time in Buffalo. He could be really good for us here. Sell Holl to someone for a 7th and: Walman - Seider Chiarot - Borgen Ghost - Petry Maata It is with a heavy heart that I admit, and announce... the superstars are it again -
1 pointCan't win without superstars bro. We need to tank every year until we get the honor of drafting Alexis Lafreniere. Only then we be ready to compete.

I want a team of dogs like this that want the cup very very badly What were the injuries to Bergeron in 2011? Bergeron suffered torn rib cartilage in Game 4 of the finals, a broken rib on his left side in Game 5 and a separated right shoulder and a punctured left lung in Game 6. The puncture eventually caused the lung to collapse, and Bergeron ended up in the hospital following Game 6, spending three days there.Jul 2, 2013 https://www.espn.com/boston/nhl/story/_/id/9444514/patrice-bergeron-boston-bruins-discusses-multiple-injuries-suffered-stanley-cup-finals -

Larkin needs to summon his inner "Mats Sundin" (former NHL'er who would come back early from injury and play exceptionally well multiple times throughout his impressive career)... Maybe taking up 'darts' and loose women might be beneficial? -
1 pointAnd I was probably more pessimistic about Hughes than he deserved. But more broadly I just don’t like the way guys like the Hughes brothers, Matthews, Nylander, or Zegras play the game. Firstly because their unearned arrogance is unbelievable. Secondly because none of those guys have won anything in the playoffs. Just the other night Jack was chirping some dude talking about “people pay to see me play” like the point of the game is to be popular. Then a few nights later Gudas takes it easy on him when he’s skating in no-man’s land and the rest of the night Jack plays like he’s afraid to touch the puck. He wants to be a star but he doesn’t want to win. That type player drives me insane. If you’re not willing to take, or give, a beating to win the Cup I don’t want you on my team no matter what your rating is on NHL 24. This season really changed the way I view team building. We took a quantum leap forward just by targeting guys who give a sh*t.
