The LetsGoWings.com / LetsGoWingsRadio.com podcast, The Red Line, is looking to push out a new episode sometime this week. With the NHL lockout 90+ days deep, we want to give the fans a voice and an outlet to be heard during this episode. We hope it goes beyond the Wings fan base, but at minimum, we want to give the fans a voice. There's three ways to be heard: 1.) Leave a comment on this post and we'll read it during the podcast 2.) Send an e-mail to topics@letsgowingsradio.com and we'll read on the show 3.) Call (313) 638-5000 and leave a voicemail and we'll work the audio into the podcast Please include: Name (first only), City/State (country if outside North America) and your thoughts/feelings on the NHL lockout Please, no profanity since we want to represent the Red Wings fan base in a positive light. All submissions need to be made by 5pm on Thursday, December 20. As always, The Red Line can be heard at: LetsGoWingsRadio Podcast

I don't think either side has been negotiating in good faith. Which is why fans should be pissed off at the players and the league for screwing up such a simple negotiation and losing at least 1/2 a season. Sorry, but I don't believe the owners had any plan to lock the players out in September when this was discussed in January. I bet the owners thought a deal could be made. They just didn't expect Fehr to come to the table in late June and then delay until the end of July before handing over his first proposal. Sorry, but the players are not going to get any sympathy from me. The players were making over 70% of the revenues before the 04-05 lockout. Over 70%. Does that seem right to anyone because it certainly doesn't to me. So they went down from 70% to 57%. Fehr calls it huge concessions. To which I respond that it was going to happen. The goose that laid that golden egg died off.

YOU are absolutely right Seriously though this lockout has annoyed me beyong belief, and therefor I will no longer be participating in any lockout discussioons until Fehr and Bettman get their heads out of their own ...

also from the article so while both sides didn't feel the urgency, fact is the nhl was ready to negotiate and the pa wasn't i also found the last part interesting i think this "we were wronged" attitude is partly to blame in all of this

Have Your Voice Be Heard on the NHL Lockout

The players are being generous helping the owners pay for contracts they signed but couldn't afford. The owners doing well can more than afford to contribute more. After all they are the ones who hired Bettman and went along with his schemes to grow the league. He claims that they were willing to negotiate before the last season ended but has yet to negotiate anything, I don't think he understands what it means. He claims that the NHLPA aren't willing to make concessions but they are the ones who are making all of the concessions. http://www.fiveminut...ncessions.html. Even not considering the lockouts, he is the worst thing to ever happen to the sport of hockey. When he finally unlocks the doors, boycott spending money on the NHL until they have no choice but to fire him or else we will be in the same boat when the new CBA expires.

Sorry for the misunderstanding on the 100% thing. What the PA did is documented and verified. I do blame them for delaying the negotiations when the league said they were ready to negotiate in January. You cannot blame the league for requesting talks, while the PA says they need time or they weren't ready. What do you expect the league to do? Demand that the PA show up and start negotiating? In order for there to be a negotiation, you have to have two willing parties. The fact that the PA chose not to be willing is not on the league. As for them talking too long, I will agree that is a problem as well.

13 pro teams running out of fans

I keep posting on forums, don't be a dumbass and boycott hockey if it does return this season. The sport is already damaged from all of this, the day hockey returns and Center Ice becomes available i'll buy it as I normally do. Let's face facts, yes this sucks, yes i'm mad, yes many fans are lost, but I still have a love affair with the sport. The word Hockey was in my wedding vows (seriously) and my better half understands that I can't live without it and it's so much more to me than just a sport. We'll get through this, and hopefully there's not too much of a decline in fan following, although i'm pessimistic about that. I just want hockey. Now. Santa if you are reading this, making this wish comes true makes up for the lack of a slip and slide in 1989. Still bitter.
