If you can steal Andersson from Calgary, or if you can get Chychrun. I'd start with Berggren and a protected 1st for either of them. Then you could go UFA for another, or a lessor trade. I mentioned Fowler before. You could do Veleno, UFA rights to Sprong, young D (like McIssac or Viro) or a 2nd round pick. Anaheim has tons of cap, maybe they could retain 50% on his last 2 years if the contract. Up front Kane is a must. Just pay the man. Then you'll need to replace Veleno and Sprong. There's plenty of players out there that would fit, it's just trying to get them in under the cap.

I'd like to see us target Matt Roy or Brett Pesce. Roy is from Detroit, so he might take less to come home and he'd be a great top four RHD to pair with Edvinsson.

Raymond had a statement game against Pittsburgh and Edvinsson is starting to have one tonight. He's been an absolute force at both ends of the ice so far.

Yah, I like that both the Pens and Caps have Boston on their schedules. We need this one against the caps tonight. 4 points of 6 in the next 3 games should put us in the driver's seat. Gotta start with a win tonight, though. I don't think we're taking both Pitts and Toronto down on the road. If we don't take care of business tonight, we could be in for a 3 game skid. That will more than likely doom us. Better show up ready to go and not go into the Lalonde shell for 2 periods. That's worked exactly ONCE (last game) in the last 2 years. We need to take advantage of all our scoring chances.

I'm not really sure Derek is overachieving. I'd expect a team with Larkin, Debrincat, Kane, Raymond, Seider, and 4,000 double digit scorers to be competing for the Wild Card. Especially when their 3rd string goalie was on a two month heater. I think there are very real reasons to criticize Lalonde for the late season collapse. And really s***ty reasons to blame him for it too. But I definitely don't get the impression that he's being targeted because he's got Dave Lewis syndrome and doesn't fit the typical square jawed, masculine, hockey guy archetype. I think he's being targeted because his team had a 10 point cushion and then fell apart, he won't play offensive players because of their turnovers but doesn't have the same rules for guys like Petry or Copp, the powerplay has fallen completely off the map and he keeps trotting out the same exact squads, he seems totally unwilling to call a timeout and stop the bleeding when his team starts slow or gets scored on twice in 30 seconds, He plays Austin Czarnik on a line with Patrick Kane while benching Joe Veleno, etc. etc. etc.

That's probably our season right there. Cool.
