  1. The Streak is officially over

What a weird feeling. Never had to NOT put the playoff wins counter up there. Earlier on this season I was on the "fire Blashill, trade everyone" train... I'm still on it. Time to break everything down and build it back up. I'd rather deal with a few down years for a proper rebuild with the right people in the front office than continue with half-measures as everything wilts.
  2. 2016-2017 Around The League

Late to the party, busy with the holidays, but @kickazz has it right: no mega-threads. Just start individual ones.
  3. Interesting Vancouver Stat

Posting threads for 'smaller items' is better than having no items at all. I wouldn't worry about it. Your feeling that you are 'cluttering up the forum' is the exact feeling I want to eliminate. People should feel free to post. If it gets crazy then I'll have to address it, but I really (really) don't see that being a problem.
  4. Interesting Vancouver Stat

I'm well aware of that, but when the 1st page of the main discussion forum has topics on it that haven't seen a post in a week there's certainly room to break the discussions out. If it becomes a problem in the future then I'll address it then, but it certainly isn't one now.
  5. Interesting Vancouver Stat

No need for mega threads as catch-alls. The forum isn't useful (and discourages new visitors from registering and commenting) if there's a half-dozen threads total with any regular activity. I'm putting a moratorium on the mega-threads.
  6. monthly schedule wallpaper?

It's no problem at all. I'm also exploring ways to make organizing site downloads a bit better, and integrated better into the forums here (besides me just listing links in a post). I did that previously with the main site, but in lieu of that I'm looking at adding the "Downloads" add-on for the forum software. That way it'll be organized (and I can better track downloads to determine what's popular and not) and leaves options to add additional downloadable content. (Such as non-calendar wallpapers, mobile/tablet wallpapers, etc.)
  7. monthly schedule wallpaper?

Sorry, I devoted pretty much all of my free time in the lead-up to the season to getting the forums upgraded and rebuilt. By the time it'd be ready October would be nearly over.
  8. General Fanager shut down?

He was hired as a hockey ops analyst with the new Las Vegas team.
  9. There'll be some white space as you scroll down the page below where the ads are, since the text elements aren't set to wrap below them. Also: I'm currently working on an Ad-Free option to the Forums for a small subscription fee. More details on that coming soon! (I'm pretty excited to finally be able to offer it!)
  10. New forum design

The issues you're having I haven't been able to duplicate. This may be just a case of refreshing your browser cache. I'm also unable to reproduce this on Tapatalk. Be advised, though: it is highly likely that the Tapatalk option for these forums will be discontinued following the forum upgrade that offers a completely responsive design to work on all devices.
  11. Are you using an Adblocker, by chance?
  12. Matt

  13. This is likely just a byproduct of the background processes updating that's still going on with the database currently. It's really taking quite a while for everything to finish getting rebuilt, but I didn't want to have the forums down any longer with the season right around the corner. Most kinks should work out on their own over the next few days (hopefully).

  15. First things first: I have to say, never once did I think that when I started this site back in September of 1996 that it would still be going strong 20 years later. It's truly unbelievable and I'm so thankful that thousands of you have made these forums your home and community of friends over all of these years. 20 Years. Wow... hard to believe that number! Welcome to version 4.0 of the Forums! This is the largest update to the forums since v3.0 was launched back in 2010, and by far the most extensive. The site now features a completely responsive design and should run far faster than the previous rendition and includes many bells and whistles that weren't available on the previous version. Unfortunately it took a bit longer for this upgrade to happen (and, truth be told, the server is still running background processes to update an absolutely massive database), but I hope you feel it was worth the wait! As with any upgrade of this magnitude there's going to be some tinkering going on (some things may look odd or out of place). Don't fret! There'll be some periodic updates as the last wrinkles are ironed out with this release. Feel free to PM me through the forums here if you find a bug, have a problem, etc.. Thank you and LGRW!
