Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 Ansar Khan @AnsarKhanMLive 1mHolland said the third round pick they sent to Nashville becomes a second round pick if Wings make playoffs. There's gotta be truth to the Jarnkrok news, otherwise: FLEECED.

nyqvististhefuture 1,002 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 Who gives a f*** if he wanted to go to brynas .... He could play a year and come back when he's 23 I find it hard to believe legwand a 33 yr old ufa is the best we could of had for jarnkrok .... Tsn said this deal was in just before 3pm .... Was definitely a panic move Disaster trade
e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 I think people are a bit quick to stomp on the panic button here. What a lot of you aren't considering is Jarnkrok's verbal desire to return to Europe and play hockey over there. If that is the case down the line, Eaves and a 3rd for Legwand isn't bad, especially if Legwand re-signs here. Look at how many we have injured and Eaves still barely makes the line-up. We have a lot of players that can fill in his role. A 3rd might equate to a bottom 6 forward in 5-6 years, the rarity of getting a gem in the 3rd doesn't outweigh the risk. A lot of this decision was based around Jarnkrok potentially pulling a Kovalchuk and bailing out of the NHL system. If that happens, a lot of you are gonna feel better about this deal. I'm assuming management knows more about this scenario than we do. Take a deep breath, this isn't the end of the world. Honestly didn't know about the desire by Jarnkrok to return to Europe until just now. Yes, it would. Yes, they do. Thanks for talking me down. 2 MabusIncarnate and Wingsfan72 reacted to this
DickieDunn 2,571 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 Eaves-no big deal conditional pick, 2nd or 3rd- not a big deal Jarkrok-guy who may never play in the NHL if he really wants to go back home. Not a big deal. Legwand was the best center moved. Detroit got him. 6 thegerkin, Travis, jimmyemeryhunter and 3 others reacted to this

achildr1 255 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 Fixed it for you. We have way too many people thinking that Jarnkrok was a top tier talented prospect. The fact of the matter is that he wasn't. He was a above average rated prospect with a C level probability of success. I have watched this guy in Grand Rapids, and while he is good, he isn't elite by any stretch of the imagination. Says who?!?! Jarnkrok has been our top prospect for years until Mantha came. Per THN and RWC. This year he struggled but even then they were saying his potential landed him between Filppula and Zetterberg and his floor was Legwand.

Son of a Wing 1,644 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 Everyone keeps saying Legwand is declining. His stats are remarkably consistent, and the last few years he's been right at about 50 points each time. This year he should crack it again. I haven't seen one person even mention anything about him declining. Just not going to pretend being in his mid 30s is a positive thing. 1 brooklynsour reacted to this
Crashnburnluder 385 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 I don't mind it becoming a second if we make playoffs cause then we have a top 6 of datsyuk, z, franzen Alfie legwand, and nyquist.... That's fine by me 2 DannyD and RedWang reacted to this

DannyD 79 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) People comparing Legwand to Weiss. smh... Weiss in 26 games has 2G 2A Legwand in 62 games has 10G 30A Holland said Legwand is going to be our #1 center for awhile between Nyquist and Franzen. So I'm assuming Legwand is #1 for the next 3 weeks while Datsyuk is out. Still gives us a chance to make the playoffs. Certainly a hell of a better chance than Andersson playing #1. IF we make the playoffs we could do some damage. Z-Pav-Alfie Nyquist-Legwand-Franzen Tatar-Sheahan-Jurco Miller - Glendening/Weiss - Abby. I feel a lot more comfortable playing Legwand #2 than Weiss at this point. At least it would allow Z and Pav to play on the same line if we make the playoffs. EDIT: Could also allow us to buy out Weiss this summer and resign Legwand. derblaueClaus 1,668 Report post Posted March 5, 2014 There has to be something about Jarnkrok we are not aware off. Despite what other say : Holland is no fool. And it would be a damn foolish trade if he traded one of our Top5 prospects + something for a UFA-rental, even with the injuries we have. 1 Wingsfan72 reacted to this
