I like it.  Give AA the reps and see what he's got.  Maybe it'll force him to commit to playing a full game.  If not, you can always move him back to the wing.

Agreed.

If it doesn't work, maybe you try Rasmussen at center.

I must say, if there's any player Blashill has done a good job of setting up tp be coached well. It's AA. Maybe some of us were critical that first year when he got limited minutes; but with the roles Blash has given AA; he's grooming him up. From time on PP, to PK, to Wing to Center. That's some good coaching. This coming year will be a big one for AA.

It'll be a good indication of how willing AA is to embrace an opportunity and capitalize on it.  He's (potentially) being given a chance to anchor his own line, with decent enough linemates, and some real minutes this year.  There's no reason he can't use this as an opportunity to bring his game up a notch if he's willing to be coached.  If he doesn't, then it'll be pretty clear what kind of player we've got in AA.

What I find ironic is you talking about growing the discussion, yet not accepting the fact that I've maintained the same stance this entire time.

We have no "facts" only our opinion of what was negotiated and how and why. I've stated my opinion many times, it's not going to change. I didnt once try to tell you that your opinion is wrong or try to prove to you why mine is right. I simply, over and over, stated why i came to my opinion. You dont agree, that's great, I said in one of my many posts that I understand your point, so really there is only one path going forward, drop it and stop making yourself look like a baiting troll.

Typical. You don't understand the argument at hand and can't offer a rebuttal, so you accuse me of trolling. Still waiting for you to address any of my points.

I mean, with Zetterberg done it's basically a throw away season as it is so I don't see a problem in trying anyone who factors into your future plans at center.  I genuinely couldn't be happier about this.  It gives a couple of kids some much needed minutes, and still ensures we'll essentially be a lottery team.  One more year of solid drafting and I'll feel very good about our future (I actually do already).

Another draft like this last one and the team is ready to push for the playoffs. The prospects are good as is but the Wings would still need a bit of luck developing for me to feel this team will really compete in the future

A big question mark is going to be goaltending. They need one of those young guys to develop and show up strong.

I’m not worried about goaltending. The team has a lot of goalie prospects that one is bound to emerge as a starter when Bernier and Howard are done

Zetterberg should come back as assistant GM.

He would quickly overthrow Ken Holland and establish the Swedish Mafia in Detroit. The casinos would be bought out and ran by them too. Swedish babes everywhere serving drinks and dancing on the poker tables.

Lidstrom would eventually run for Detroit mayor. Holmstrom would have the judges on his pocket.

Emma Anderson becomes Governor.

Forseberg and Sundin would be the mob bosses overseas and out of state in connection with us.

Karlsson becomes a Red Wing.

Next time, lead with this last point.

The next spamming of memes, off topic posting and photoshops will lead to suspensions going forward. We have spent too much time cleaning this up, and it's gotten way out of hand. We have been more laid back this offseason and it's getting taken advantage of, keep things on track, on topic, and stop doing this. Thank you.

What about GDTs? We always hype spam before the game starts. Off limits or no?

GDTs pre-game don't need to change, same with "X posts for a game whatever victory" in 2025 when we make playoffs again, fill it up all you want as long as the content is within site rules.

Y'know what amuses me? Seeing every hockey pundit say the Wings are trapped in cap hell. Let's ignore the Zetterberg situation. Let's ignore all the money that's set to come off the books next summer and the summer after that. Let's ignore the fact that having a ton of cap space doesn't necessarily get you anywhere.

If a team is trapped in cap hell, it's Toronto. That Tavares deal is awful! The Leafs are stuck building around him now, despite having Matthews, Marner, and Nylander. Also, the other day I saw Jake Gardiner say he should be getting Ryan Ellis money, ha! The Leafs better win the Cup in 2 years, or they're screwed!

Id love to build around Tavares

Marner, Nylander, and Gardinier are replaceable IMO.

I hate the leafs as much as the next guy, but lets face it they are in much better shape than we are atm
