I have a hunch that Babcock's gonna fuse them together. Playoff experience with youth and athleticism-- we'll be unstoppable. The goalie's name will be Jimmy Howgood?

Anybody watching Modano's last game in Dallas? He is in on both goals in the game including tying the game with a minute and a half to go and now in the shootout scores a wicked wrister. Credit where credit is due. An American classic there. I hope he comes back for one more so he can at least finish his last season in the postseason. They gave him a three minute ovation with 5 minutes to go in the period and the Stars win it. Will go down in history if it is his last game.

    Modano

A sure-fire HOF entry, one of the greatest American players ever, and a classy guy to boot. His public criticism of the Stars a couple of years ago when the had Ott & Avery gooning it up was one of the most honourable and courageous statements I've heard from a hockey player.

    Crosbys first 50 goal season

Crysby :puke: Too bad he whines and cries and flops around like a fish, then maybe I could congratulate 50 goals for him, but until he grows up, :puke: (how many of those goals were on power plays that he embellished and shouldn't have been penalties to begin with?) I don't know why you people keep posting Crysby stuff on here, we will never respect the baby especially for his whiney antics in 2008 (obstruction, obstruction, wah, wah, cry!) and then for his hand shake dis in 2009. Die Crysby, DIE... :puke: :puke: :puke: Oh and BTW: :puke:

Lol really, "I thought Billy really deserved the goal so i gave my bff bettman a call and he said anything for u Cindy" If it was Crosby's goal it would have stayed Crosby's goal no matter what.

    Crosbys first 50 goal season

Ovi's been on a >1.5 ppg pace all year, if he played 82 games it'd be a different story. Where'd you hear that Crosby told them to change it? I thought the NHL changed goals/points based on video review performed after each game. Edit: Punctuation

    Any Word on Hossa's injury?

Yeah he wasn't right against Pittsburg because it was a big game. Therefore he choked. So now that its been established that he was hurt during the regular season as well and still scored 40 goals, whats your excuse for your boyfriend choking in the playoffs?

Please stop indulging Carman. I am 100% serious when I say that he is ONLY saying all of this stuff in order to get a rise out of you. That is his sole purpose on these forums. He shows up to make people angry. He's a consummate troll. I'm not kidding.

    Brad May will join Griffins

With Cleary on the Helm line suddenly that line is a threat to score a little. Draper and Osgood can be the team's biggest supporters off the ice. It's what they're best at this year. Like I said in the other thread, please no Williams. Ever. I really hope May is in the lineup. The playoffs is when he really shines the most, imo. I also hope the Wings re-sign him but only if they treat him right. They should make enough cap room for him to be a reserve forward. No more Grand Rapids for him. He's been a consummate professional about it but he deserves better.

    Any Word on Hossa's injury?

And you have an obvious hard on for Hossa. Datsyuk was skating great and killing penalties like always. He didn't get points but he wasnt obviously bad like Hossa was, Hossa looked like s***. Especially for a guy who jumped ship to win a cup he should've played a lot better. The commentators were constantly saying it was the best slump they've ever seen. Get off Hossa's dick and realize he played awful last year in the playoffs. There is absolutely no way around it. And no I'm not a homer I'm one of the few here that are usually critical about the wings and don't think Kenny is god.

Do you hold Datsyuk to this same standard? It's called injuries. They happen in hockey. You aren't a playoff choker when you score 76 points in 98 games.

    Any Word on Hossa's injury?

Hossa did skate well, but he had zero velocity on his shot. He got hit towards the end of the Anaheim series and didn't look the same after it. To say an NHL player doesn't have heart just makes you lose all credibility, especially when the said player has lead several teams to deep playoff runs and is a perennial 40 goal scorer. Hockey is a team game, there was plenty of blame to go around.

    Lidstrom

I love Nick, but haven't we heard this before? "If we lose Fedorov, we're screwed" "If we lose Bowman, we're screwed" "If we lose Yzerman, we're screwed" Nick is one of the greatest defenseman of all time, but we'll survive without him. It won't be easy at first, but we'll be fine. Kronwall will step it up (I honestly think he'll be the next Scott Stevens), we still have Raffy, Ericsson is just having a sophomore slump and I'm sure we'll get someone through FA over the next couple years. Lids will be missed A LOT, but its not the end of the world. As long as the Wings continue to play this system and fill the roster with smart two way players, we'll be successful.

    Lidstrom

Lidstrom will definitely be back next season.... which is exactly what I'll be saying to myself 5 years from now when I'm rocking back and forth in a padded room, having lost it and retreated to an imaginary world where #5 plays for the Red Wings forever. But seriously, he'll be back.

You act like it's going to be 4 and out though. Not exactly realistic.

    Drew Miller

Kopecky was actually healthy during the Olympics, and played extremely well. Don't know how many here saw the Slovakia games, but Kopecky was one of their best players. Miller has definitely filled the defensive role the Wings wanted from Kopy, but not the physical or offensive roles. Kopy was supposed to be a 25-30 goal power forward with defensive skill, but unfortunately he kept getting random injuries that hampered his development. Franzen, the "fourth line grinder" came out of nowhere to fill "Kopy's offensive job" and then some, so I guess it's prospect replacement by committee?
