    Knee still bothering Kronwall?

I don't wanna start another grit/toughness discussion, already plenty of them, although i can't say i wouldn't like some more sandpaper guys in the lineup, however ken holland had a pretty decent offseason and i'm as excited as i've been in years for the upcoming season, i still believe the current team can do wonders

    Huet loaned to Swiss team?

Why this doesn't count as circumventing the cap, I don't know. However, Chicago can loan Huet to the Swiss team and while still paying him, have his cap hit come off their books.

Well the talk on other boards saying that, i haven't thought much about it...and it's impossible to know if the situation would have been different.

    Abdelkader re-signs for 2 years

Zetterberg can cheat a bit as he is the primary centre and if he get tossed out datsyuk is there to win it, it's awesome to have two players of that calibre to take the faceoffs

You guys have missed the point entirely. He felt pressure from the fans to put the penguin on? Fine. But notice when he's holding his guitar properly, the Winged Wheel is displayed properly and the Penguin has fallen on it's face. I consider it a nice little backhand. Sure the logo is on there, but it's displayed improperly. Maybe it's even a penguin taking a dive... hmmmm. symbolism is big to some, perhaps we needed to look at the deeper meaning.

If he gets surgery it's probably a similar one that Lecavalier had yesterday, arthroscopic surgery that is, 4weeks off maxmimum in that case.

Yeah during the summer reports have basically been saying, it's better but not perfect and they still don't know exactly what caused the pain in his knee, the pain was still there when the mcl was 100% healthy..

    I hate shootouts

Games shouldnt be decided by a skills competition, but the Wings lack of success in the shootout probably just makes the shootout hate even worse.

That sucks. We could have had him for the same cash, and he'd give us a gritty forward that can score some goals. Would be a terrific addition to our team. Instead that money went elsewhere. This is worse than last year, when we found out that Jason Williams' money could have gone to Prospal or Grier.

His salary last year was $710,000, his cap hit was $850,000 because of bonuses. So then the minimum he could make is $745,500.(5% increase). Now I'm not sure if it is calculated with the bonuses included or not, but I figured I'd just throw it out there.

I'll probably play along and not post it long enough until he makes another bulls*** call. I might have a change of heart by then. Also, that doesn't mean I wont have my own biddings to do. I feel like I owe Red Wings nation a little redemption. He actually was gonna go into a whole explanation about RFA's but I told him I knew most of it already and frankly the stuff kind of bores me so I told him not to bother. I'm sure he knew the exact amount but was probably just roughing it for me after that.

Some might suggest Laraque wouldn't have taken liberties on Kronwall had detroit had a fighter(s) and sandpaper players in their lineup

Cleary he lets his agent handle the contract negotiations, because if he thinks he'll only get around $800k if Modo signs he's not familiar with the CBA at all...which I find hard to believe (atleast in regards to RFA salaries). According to the CBA, the minimum salary he can get next year is $892,500 which was the required amount Kenny's qualifying offer had to be. Based on the minimum RFA salary increase rule and given his salary last year, he's required to get a minimum 5% raise ($42,500) which would bring his salary to no less than the aforementioned amount.

Perhaps, but then he should've 'roughed' it by saying $900k. I'm not trying to be difficult, I'm just saying he can't make less than $892,500 next year based on the qualifying offer he already had to have received in order to stay a Red Wing RFA. _____________________________________________________ Simple FYI for those that are interested in our unsigned RFA's: Restricted Free Agents: A player set to become a restricted free agent will become an unrestricted free agent if his current team does not make him a qualifying offer that adheres to the minimum raise policy of the CBA. The deadline to qualify all RFA's is June 29 * Qualifying Offers: A qualifying offer must include the following minimum raises: o Previous salary < $660,000: 10% increase in salary o Previous salary < $1,000,000: 5% increase in salary o Previous salary > $1,000,000: Match previous season's salary

I'm going to make a common sense judgement call here and say that you should not post O'Halloran's address here unless you have his express permission to do so. This is a public forum. Since people don't have to join the forums to read threads, you would be broadcasting the home address of an NHL referee to basically the entire world. (LGW threads can even be brought up in Google searches). So even though LGW members might not do anything extreme, you can't deny that there are some *crazy* people out there who might. Do you really want to risk someone doing something stupid and hurting him (or God forbid, his family) because you got upset over a blown call in a stupid hockey game? I damn sure wouldn't want that on MY conscience. Awesome story about Abs, though. Good to get some insight on how he's feeling with the Modano situation being dragged out.

You can find instructions on how to build homemade bombs, but that doesn't mean you should post them here "just because if someone were to go to those lengths they wouldn't need your help". Yes, I know that's an apples-to-oranges argument, so let me put it a bit simpler. Just because they might not "need your help", why make it any easier? That said, I'm going to reinforce my original point, a bit more forcefully. (I hate to come across as being short, but unfortunately it needs to be done). *DO NOT* post his address on LGW. Unless you can prove to Matt or one of the Mods that you have his express permission to do so.

#24 should be retired? But to who?

I'd give it to Probert... the emotional factor weighs too much. But it won't be... it'll probably be held out of circulation for a long time though.

#24 should be retired? But to who?

#5 will be double-hung as the next number in the rafters (Lidstrom and Kelly). After that it will be #30. Following that #91 has a slim chance at making it, and then we see numbers such as #13 possibly being the second double-hung number going up for Datsyuk and Slava Kozlov; of current players, #40, #55, #26, #51, and #35 could all earn jersey retirements from the current roster.
