I hope Bert wins this one to be honest. He paid the $2 Million to the family and it is time to move on. I hope this one gets laughed out of court.

    2011 MLB Season Thread

Well tonight's probably the night. First division title since 1987! Just for fun, the Baseball team I play on clinched a trip to the finals last night. I play LF and it was fun yelling and screaming running to the infield to join the team after the last hitter struck out. I hoping for the same for the Tigs tonight.

There have been many nasty incidents in NHL history just as bad as Bertuzzi on Moore. What made this so bad is the result. If Moore gets up from that, Bertuzzi is not nearly as hated.

My thoughts would probably be a little bit different if I was in Steve Moore's place, but it's got to be time to move on. Bertuzzi has gone above and beyond realizing that he f'ed up badly, apologizing, paying up so far. As much s**t as he takes from this (and this incident only) in general, a good bit of it deserved obviously for what he did, his response to this and owning up to it and moving on and learning to be at peace or live with what he did has just been second to none. Again, I honestly have no idea if Steve Moore is still feeling badly, obviously I would not wish what happened to him on anybody, but at some point there has got to be a point of forgiving and learning to live with this.

    McCarty's new job

Good. Maybe he can cross check Ashley into one of the check out windows. God I hate her. Yes I watch the show ....I love it

Filppula shows up for the playoffs. I'm fine with his regular season play as long as he keeps doing great in the playoffs.

Why are Callahan's chances slim to none? He seems like a perfect 'Wings' type fourth liner to me. He has good skating, scoring, etc. and can play physical. They drafted him on potential, and he has been fulfilling that potential. I hope Callahan can bring it all together- I'm more worried about his maturity than anything else- and be on the Wings' fourth line in a few years. As far as fighting/prospects are concerned, I'm glad we kept Abby instead of Ritola (regardless of health issues).

I'm in the camp that *hopes* Hudler can knock my socks off again like he did in 08 and 09. I don't *expect* it, but I *hope* for it. Good to hear he not only was training, but skating as well. Also good to know we have a deep line of people ready to steal his spot if he's a no-show again.

Babs sets defense pairings for camp

I hope this means the Brad "O-Zone" Stuart experiment is over. He's better in more of a stay-at-home role - let Kronwall do the pinching this year.

Wow the wings D is tough actually If Commodore can really find his game again and become a solid number 6 with a regular shift they will be a physical force. Lidstrom - Yeah hes soft but hes also the reigning Norris champ so chirp him I dare ya White - Feisty little guy who can throw a nice hipcheck and handle himself in a scrap. Clears the crease Stuart and Kronawll - Probably the hardest hittting pairing in the league when together arguably Commodore, Smith, Ericcson - All guys who can fight and have an edge to their game (Even Ericcson every now and than) Kindl - Soft but I feel like he wont play a whole lot again and could be traded. Im hoping Commie shows Ericcson what to do with his 6'5 frame and they become a damn nasty pairing. If Smith is in the lineup he could actually be their nastiest defender, kid is dirty with his stick, looks for big hits and will fight too. I just really hope Commie gets it together and can turn into a pre concussion Lilja

I was really hoping for Ericsson to play with Lidstrom. He's the one who needs it the most.

    Jonathan Toews Bodychecks a Child

Bit of a cheap shot by Toews, but Hudler needs to keep his head up.

I'm most impressed with Ryan Sproul in this tourney. He out-performed Brendan Smith. This kid could be a stud NHL defensemen.

Babs sets defense pairings for camp

It's not like these won't be mixed up a million times during the season. I predict that when Wings play Leafs in the Cup finals next summer Lidström will be paired with Commodore.

Smartly? Nobody could have predicted all of Ritola's misfortunes. The kid was a damn good hockey player and would have EASILY scored more goals than Abby had he not went deaf and had other unfortunate health issues. Stop chest pounding, you can only claim victory to some stupid debate we had over a year ago because of a player's unforeseen health misfortune. Anyone could have lost on the Igor Grigorenko bet too, because it could never have been thought he would be in a horrible car accident that cost him his NHL future. Have fun rejoicing.

    Zach Bogosian signs with Jets

The fallacy with your premises is Holland didn't have that choice. So his cap hit vs Ericsson's is moot because he was a RFA, not a UFA. In fact, $2.5 might be a bit high considering his RFA status. In comparison, Ericsson re-signed for $900k when he was a RFA. So if you cut out all the fluff and BS, it's really 900k vs $2.5 million.

Kindl in front of Commodore is really disturbing. I am questioning Babcock at the moment. Seriously, I hope Commie gets that 6th spot. If not, then it was a waste....
