Is there going to be some prize given at the end of the season to the dozen or so guys that don't get suspended this year? This should have been a double minor, but not a suspension.

I can't help but feel like I'm being mocked. Just in the gut, you know...

Obviously, the Hudler trade talk has reached the saturation point; but isn't it more valuable to the Wings if Hudler and Filppula simply perform at high levels as opposed to 'well enough to be traded'? Personally, I'd rather see them play well and help this team than play just well enough for us to try and steal someone else.

And people still don't understand. Hudler isn't a tradeable asset regardless of how he's playing. 90 points or 10 points. Why? Because what the team gets back for him if he can be traded for something good will never match up to what he is bringing the team. If he's playing poorly, he's not going to bring back anything of value at all; perhaps just a minor leaguer the team would waive and then lose via UFA (think Tollefson) or something. Filppula is more likely to be traded, and even then in no case is Flip going to be shopped unless he looks like he is going to lose his position in the top six to Helm. It's not likely he'll be traded unless the Wings get a great return on the deal.

Jiri Hudler is looking like a solid bet to have a career season this year. =) I don't think we can tell just by 2 games besides if he keeps playing like he has or better...why would you want to trade him?

It's about how many replies there are...you know why some don't post in the thread. I also am trying to watch the game more which means I'm paying less attention to the computer. We all appreciate all the work you do in getting these GDT started. It's nice to come here and comment. And like others have said, once we have a loss or bad game there will be plenty of the negative posts. It seems like the only time people speak up is when they have something to complain about.

This right here. Should not have been suspended at all. That was way to much. And as far as the Foote one...thats another one that shouldn't be if that were today. Foote was going for the stick and missed.

This is awful, in my opinion. Give him a 4 minute penalty, 2 games for this is way overboard. I don't think it was reckless by Bouchard, I think they were just jostling and chopping at each other and Calvert's stick lift made Bouchard hit him up high unintentionally. How many games would this have gotten?

Players started to embellish last year. All that does is make the refs jobs even harder for them to do.

Brunnstrom had a decent training camp and now when you need to tie a game youre putting Brunnstrom out there? Do you guys not realize that Brunnstrom wasnt even that guy in the AHL last season? And once again Brunnstrom had 10 les pims in less games played than Nystrom last year, while 10 of Nystroms came in fights and I can guarantee a few were off setting roughings. Using stats and not bias against a player will show you that Brunnstrom actually takes more dumb penalties The Wings have also been worn down physically in the playoffs by the sharks and Coyotes the last 2 seasons. Noone will like to acknowledge that because it makes their argument against a physical player sound better. Maybe if the wings could wear down another team for once they would do better in the playoffs When has anyone suggested signing someone who cant play but can fight? Youre the worst on this board for putting words in other peoples mouths, as soon as its a 4th liner who can drop the gloves hes automatically only a fighter and useless in every other aspect according to you. Maybe try watching the guys play for once and youll realize they do just as much as someone like Drew Miller

Leino is older and significantly more expensive. The only advantages he has are that he just signed a contract, and that he's slightly larger. He has already shown difficulty with Detroit's system, and does not work nearly as hard as Hudler. He doesn't use his advantage in size to play a more physical game; if anything Hudler is the more physical player. But with his size advantage, Buffalo would want Hudler to provide more offense. Meaning that it would be a downgrade in current player quality, for an older, more expensive player. No thanks.
