True. It'll be nice to see someone on the Wings stand up for a teammate (other than our goalie). I just wish Tootoo didn't come with all his other bad qualities.

He's absolutely a worse diver than Franzen. Mule is a bit of drama queen, but I've not seen him flop like Tootoo. While I can appreciate the energy and toughness of his game, my dislike of him is based on him being a triple threat: dives, dirty hits, jumps guys in fights.

I think we are going to be better than most people think we are. We got an upgrade with our goalie corps and a small upgrade on offensive. Lets see what they guys on the blueline have. We arent a lock to win the conference like we were 5 years ago but its definately playoff worthy.

Good for Eberle, and good for Edmonton. Jordan Eberle is one of the only young players I`d be willing to trade some of our big guns for. He`s the real deal for sure.

I agree that it's hard to sympathize with either side of a millionaires vs billionaires discussion, especially one that's threatening this hundredaires ability to watch the only sport I actually care about this season BUT 1. The billionaires don't entertain me all season so I like them less and 2. Didn't the players try to push back the expiration of this CBA in order to avoid another lockout? ideas: 1.lock them all in a room until they agree, jury-style. 2.take all the money that goes towards redesigning/ruining jerseys and use that to settle everything?

This is a really solid deal for the Oilers now, nevermind in 2-3 years when he's even better. Good for them.

The players getting what they want won't lower prices for consumers either. If anything, prices are going to go up. That's an invalid argument. Everyone is being greedy. It's millionaires vs billionaires squabbling over crumbs.

Players settling for less money would not result in lower prices for consumers but in more profits for owners. There is a difference here.

I don't care that a player makes 4 million a year, but what bothers me is that they won't settle for 3.7 million. Which is still a huge amount to get paid for playing your favorite sport.

Was hoping for a red smoke-monster fighting a ginormous mechanical octopus piloted by a cigar-smoking, laser-eyed Larry Murphy. This offseason is an endless succession of bitter disappointments. *sigh*

I think they'll all still be in the league, and thank heavens that now that we've lost a season to a lockout that the CBA has a one-year-extention if they can't come to terms. Now we won't have to lose a season in 2012-3. (Playin the "pretend it's still '06" game.)
