Wings/Leafs will be the most epic, of course, but this really makes the WC a joke, especially if they continue to do this. Way to f*** up another cool thing about hockey, NHL. Will it never end? -

I'm not opposed to the idea of multiple outdoor games, but the epicness with which the NHL continues to f*** up a good thing just astounds me. Of course it would be during the year the Wings are hosting the WC, in the biggest venue yet, and of course one team will get TWO OUTDOOR GAMES DAYS APART BEFORE OTHER TEAMS GET EVEN ONE. EVER. Internet, help me out: Here's to you, NHL! -

Datsyuk Leaving?!
pondrocket reacted to xBflinker for a post in a topic
We all knew this day would come, but sounds like Dats may be leaving sooner than expected. Why would he ever want to leave when he's playing with top notch talent like abby?! http://kuklaskorner.com/a2y/comments/source-in-detroit-datsyuks-got-one-year-left -

Somehow I wish this would happen, just to show the NHL how damn wrong they are with their parity BS. Lets just hope. the watered down Winter Classic is going to fail and therefoore the experiment will be over after next year. -

They can play good hockey inside. It'd make a nice game of the week for NBC. Much of the appeal of the WC comes from the novelty. Novelty that is eroded with over-exposure. Then you have Pittsburgh in a 3rd outdoor game, Rangers in their 2nd and 3rd, Chicago and Detroit both in a second, Philly's already had two... While it's understandable to want the biggest ratings draws in an event like this, and it's nice that some new teams will be featured, they shouldn't do it all in one season. -

Little Gary just couldn't help try to be the Oprah of the NHL. You get a Winter Classic! And YOU get a Winter Classic! And YOU get a Winter Classic too! And that team over there? THEY get a Winter Classic! Just when you thought that the greed & stupidity of the NHL front office & owners had hit its nadir... (now watch them be all surprised when the ratings of outdoor games 3-6 drop well below what they expect) -

There was a preseason game in Vegas back in '91. If they can make ice in September in the middle of the desert, LA in January should be easy. That's the one game that seems like a decent idea. Though it would have been much better to make it the WC in 2015. I predict that by 2018, Pittsburgh will play their entire schedule outdoors. -

Oh hey, they just had to figure a way to get Pittsburgh into another one of these. They even matched them up against an opponent that means absolutely nothing, and doesn't pose any excitement. ******* stupid NHL. -

Such a joke!!!!! I despise the heads of the NHL... Rangers 2 winter classics in 3 days -
1 pointThere is a pretty good argument that if we spent the money on Wiz we would be worse off. He's been injured a ton since 2010, he's a one dimensional guy that would play a ton of minutes and hurt us defensively. Do we really think that having Wiz here missing 40+ games last season and 1/3 of this one( he's only played more than 70 games once in his career) would really help us that much? Then add to the salary he's making and the constraints of us actually going for a player that would make us better in he future? You pay 5 million + on really good players that can stay healthy, Wisniewski is not this type of player in my opinion. His offensive skill would probably be worth it for some teams, but with his injury history in addition to our defense that really lacks a lock-down defensive guy outside of Ericsson, he would not be the answer.

Bert thinks he'll be back this season
marcaractac reacted to Ally for a post in a topic
I respectfully disagree.Bert is effective with Pav and more importantly Pav likes playing with him. He's helpful in the shootout and with us fighting for every point we can get, a shootout point can make or break the end of this season for us. Last, we only have one player that anybody is even remotely intimidated by (Tootoo) and with Bert we'd have another. I like having a big, tough, guy on a line with Dats. Bert brings a lot to this team. If you don't see that we're lacking in his absence, then we haven't been watching the same top 6 this season. -

Playoff race vs. race for #1 pick.
haroldsnepsts reacted to PavelValerievichDatsyuk for a post in a topic
We also should be positioning ourselves to look attractive to potential free agents. If we're not a playoff team we look like a much less attractive destination. -
1 pointSome new updates on Datsyuk.... 23. Pavel Datsyuk's agent, Gary Greenstin, was in Toronto visiting client Mikhail Grabovski. We talked about rumours Datsyuk will play the last year of his contract next season, then go back to Russia. Greenstin said he'd just been in Detroit and talked with Ken Holland. He wouldn't go too deeply into those conservations, but it did sound like they discussed the possibility of an extension. (Datsyuk cannot sign anything until July 5.) He added that if Datsyuk stays, it will be with the Red Wings. "Playing with one team is very important to him." http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/opinion/2013/04/30-thoughts-craig-mactavish-poised-to-shake-up-oilers.html http://kuklaskorner.com/hockey/comments/hockey-thoughts-on-a-tuesday-afternoon1

Seriously, let it rest. You going to bring up Bert in every thread about a player getting injured? I'm sure somewhere Steve Moore is happy you are fervently championing his cause, but in the end you just come off looking like a troll. -
