    NHLPA approves hybrid icing

As is so often the case, the new rule will not be the problem. The problem will be having competent on-ice officials making the call correctly.

    Season Predictions

Not a chance. After the way Z willed this team into the playoffs last season, the Wings will not miss with him as captain. I believe in Z.

    NHLPA approves hybrid icing

Yep. It also works in the other direction if we ice it. You're welcome.

The dumb moves Holland has made have been no-brainers. Not just hindsight being 20/20. Bringing back Cleary and signing Sammy to that contract were moves anyone on LGW could foresee as mistakes. Holland needs to put more trust in guys in the minors, instead of giving us his "overripe" quote. If we're talking fruits, Tatar is and Nyquist are fresh, while Cleary and Sammy are rotten. Meanwhile, Bertuzzi is a dead plant. Yeah, he scored 40 points two years ago. He's 38 and basically didn't play last year. It's pathetic these guys are still on the roster, and it doesn't take a genius GM to see they're a mistake.

Lets see, what is different in that jpeg, oh yeah one guy's resume is NHL and the other is AHL. I will let you figure out why that is important! Forgot to point out that Cleary isn't even the worst forward on the Wings let alone entire NHL.

I'll probably switch between WSH/CHI and TOR/MON. About damn time.

Those guys could all be traded without calling them up. Malik gives a pretty good explanation of what's going on. http://kuklaskorner.com/tmr/comments/red-wings-roster-moves-get-weird-emmerton-remains-in-nhl-ouellet-recalled-t

    Breaking Bad

Good wrap up indeed.. after Dexter I was concerned but i'm not now. Everything got tied up, who went down deserved to go down and it was a worthy conclusion to one of the greatest shows in television history. It will be missed but i'm glad it didn't get drawn out to the point of exhaustion like they do some shows.

    NHLPA approves hybrid icing

I understand the rationale behind using hybrid icing, but it seems like it's going to be a mess this season because it comes down to the discretion of the linesmen .

someone shake those 2 and tell them its ok to tell our future UFA'S that don't belong here...THIS ISN'T PERSONAL, ITS BUSINESS and at first I thought they did say that to Cleary....

I agree I like they way it ended. Very fitting. I like how Badger and the other mexican dude make an appearance. Overall I was well pleased.

I t'was thinking about the end of season award and how Pavs should basically win the Selke every year... I was also reading about Letang's injury and I was thinking about how overrated he is as a defenseman (I believe he get a reputation as a valuable defenseman because of his inflated offensive stats)... Then I started thinking (sure the word "thinking" might be an overstatement)... there are multitude of awards for offensive production for fowards: Hart = MVP (usually a F) Ross = Most Points (always a F) Lindsay = Best Player (usually a F) Richard = Most Goals (always a F) Calder = Best Rookie (Usually a F) And those awards are heavily, if not singularly, based on offensive production... Then on top of those there's the SELKE "awarded to the forward who best excels in the defensive aspects of the game." Still, much like Gold Gloves in baseball, the winner of the Selke has to have some offensive production to even be noticed... My question becomes this: Why is there only one award for defensemen? The Norris has predominantly gone to the best offensive-defenseman even though it is stated to be "awarded to the defenseman who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position." There is no way someone wins the Norris without offensive production... We were lucky with Nick because he was the best offensive and defensive defenseman. I say create another award for defensemen... perhaps the best defensive-defenseman award. Name it after Eddie Shore, Doug Harvey, or dare I say... Nick Lidstrom Sorry for the long post... super bored. GO WINGS!

Make Cleary the new 4th line center maybe. OK, more realistically Miller will probably slide over to that spot with Helm out.

I'm happy to see him dominate. We need more stars, if this guy scores 60-70 goals this year, makes Team Canada's world junior team and maybe gets a chance to compete for the Memorial Cup, well then we're laughing. That is good for development, he's just a kid. There is a ton of talent in Grand Rapids as it is, he's in a good spot.

Are teams going to "bait" us into fighting?

Not a clue. You seem to see bullying where none exists. It sometimes seems that you want the Wings to get bullied so that your advocacy of enforcers will carry more water. As things stand, the Wings don't get bullied. The fact that they don't have a fighter seems to have no effect whatsoever. It makes zero difference whether or not players answer the proverbial bell when they're challenged, so I fail to see what is the big deal about the likes Franzen and Kronwall refusing to fight. Perhaps it's an issue you for you simply because you want to see more fighting, but it has no effect upon the outcome of a game. As I've said before, I think you're longing for a lapsed age of hockey.
