I never like seeing anyone take a puck to the face like that. As much as I disliked Weber's head smash on Hank, I was angrier about the lack of punishment. He's one of those guys who sometimes plays on the edge, he just should've paid the price for it, both from the Wings and the league. I'd still take Weber on the Wings in a heartbeat. Hank could smash his face into the glass during practice and they can call it even.

Maybe taking #90 was the death knell for him? The Wings need to retire that number.

Weiss needs to play with pavel when he gets back. Nobody can produce with cleary and Sammy they are so so bad

This about sums up my reaction going from your initial post to this one. Insulting others due to an error caused by your lack of adequate communication is disrespectful. Maybe you should consider how you word your discussions instead of criticizing others.

    Notable Griffins

And now for something completely different: some good news. Several Griffins are having very good seasons. Gustav Nyquist: Gus is doing very well in a league in which he very clearly does not belong. He scores at a prolific rate and skates circles around the opposition. He's currently #5 in the league in points, and it goes without saying that he should be in the NHL. Tomas Jurco: Jurco is demonstrating why he was so hyped as a prospect. He couples excellent speed and stickhandling with an excellent wrist shot and a willingness to use it. He currently leads the Griffins in goals (9) and shots on goal (42) in 16 games, and ranks 2nd in points. His offensive production ranks him at #10 in the league. Teemu Pulkkinen: The concerns about Pulkkinen's ability to play the North American game seem to have been unfounded. His rookie season is going quite well so far. He's tied for second in goals (6) and is shooting plenty (36), being tied for 2nd in that category as well. He is third on the team with 13 points. Ryan Sproul: Sproul's rookie season is going very well. His 12 points (including five goals) place him at #4 on the team in scoring, and he's amongst the league leaders in points by a first-year defenseman. He's also tied for the best +/- on the team (+9); this puts him in a tie for third overall in the league in that category. Not bad.

Where are all the MSM media types saying the Wings are a slow team? With Helm, Nyquist and Tatar all in the line-up, and spread onto different lines, we are a quick team. Helps when the D are getting pucks to the forwards more consistently too.

Yeah,Your right posting this thread probably was not the best idea, but i wasn't looking for symapthy for shea,i understand that y'all dislike weber for what he did to hank, but don't hate the rest preds team for what weber did, they did not play any part in it. Still like rooting for the wings though

I say give him the rest of this season, and if he continues not to produce or really show much of anything, we use our other compliance buyout on him next offseason. we're stuck with him until then. He's definitely underperfomed so far, regardless of the excuses.

I would strangle 10 puppies to have that guy on the Wings.

As I stated in the lines thread, when everyone is healty, there are 2 spots for him atm - on Dats wing, or on the 4th line (at wing or Anderssons 4C spot). Lets be patient with the guy. He's ~ 20 games into a 400 game contract. Tell him just to concentrate on finding his feet, and his place in the team, let him gain some confidence.

If I was an attorney bringing suit against the NHL, I would show the weber head-smash and the cowen elbow as evidence that the league has not done enough to deter dangerous hits to the head. How can the league, with a straight face, claim that they are concerned about player safety? I may be biased, but I was furious Emery wasn't suspended. This league is becoming a joke. Avery and torterella can be suspended or fined for their speech, but an assault is unpunishable.

Another problem with your thought is this: You said fighting was ok because they're willing participants. If a cop is walking down the street and sees you and someone fighting - even if you are both willing - you can get arrested. If you let the elephant in the tent, you don't get to pick and choose where he sits or what he eats.

    Bryz to Oilers

I so hate that phrase, and how beloved it is of hockey fans. So over-used.
