Baby steps. We just want to get in and get healthy, after that I think we have a dangerous team to take on anyone.

I'd go with the exact same top 3 lines, although I doubt Babcock will. Abdelkader is missing and he'll definitely be in the line-up, Weiss will too if he gets healthy. Ferraro will definitely be back in Grand Rapids, and its likely Jurco will too If everyone is back from injury. Fully healthy I think the best we can hope for from Babcock is something along the lines of Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Alfredsson Nyquist - Legwand - Franzen Tatar - Weiss - Sheahan Abdelkader - Helm - Miller scratches - Glendening, Bert. Andersson Kronwall - Ericsson Dekeyser - Quincey Lashoff - Smith Kindl

    Gustav Nyquist Appreciation Thread

Interestingly enough Nyquist only played 10 minutes tonight. Weird use of our best scorer.

If we somehow get this battered team to the playoffs I can't see how Babs doesn't at least get a nomination for coach of the year.

% chance of making the playoffs

We aren't putting them on the ice to score. We would already have three scoring lines. They are there to shut down people and kill penalties. A line of Abelkader,Helm,Glendening would be as close as we could currently get to the "Grind Line" of old.

I think it will take less than 94. I don't see any of the current bubble teams winning 7 games

Kassian on the way out of Van?

I guess Probert would never be on the RW for most here..... So sad......

Leafs look like the most vulnerable because it's the same tune that happened in Anaheim. Carlyle looks to have lost the team, and after his comments about Reimer and the feud between him and Kadri the lockerroom is a mess.

Reimer is terrible. The Leafs look like the most vulnerable team around the Red Wings right now.

    Franzen calls out team

We haven't lost since Franzen made is statement. Coincidence? I don't think so.

10 for them, 12 for us

Glendening-Sheahan-Miller. Boom, 4th line. You'd have to think Andersson is the odd man out when we get healthy. Nothing against him, but he is such a slow skater. Sheahan can more than make up for the points Andy would put up.

the thing is if we make the playoffs we'll want Pav and Z back on the ice if possible. I would like the front office to shut them both down and let them heel up for next year, where i believe we will be in a much better position to have a good year. I think that they have told Weiss that he should call it a year already and get healthy for 2014-15.

Haha, Babs is the man. "Thank God we didn't have any team doctors here or Kronner would have been out a month." He laughed, but probably some underlying sincerity and frustration.

Cmon kip - even you have to admit Smith was great tonight... building on previous games like I think he has been doing lately. Showed up on the scoresheet tonight for you too.

People can say what they want about this trade, but Legwand is a huge part of this teams success

    Can people stop complaining now

If one of our players tried doing that, even without gear, they would wind up on IR.

    Injury Updates

i don't know if this belongs here, but since it's "injury updates", edzo is out for tonight's game between Boston and Montreal because of throat infection. the Gods must have punished him for the verbal crap he spewed during sunday's game
