It's a good thing Khan put that "T." In front of "Bertuzzi"....otherwise people might have thought he was talking about Todd instead of Tyler.

More interested than anything else to see how Weiss is doing

Which will only lead to more media speculation, since nothing was finalized. Which was my point.

Datsyuk already went back to Russia early now Babcock wants out too

See, to me, you say that like it’s something to be proud of. Any team can take a crack at theses two if they are prepared to suck a whole ton of ass for a year. Maybe I’m misreading your tone. If so I apologize. I know some people wish the Wings would just tank and get some top 5 picks but I’d be more proud, as a fan, if this team was able to get back into contention without really breaking stride.

Teemu, You were a 44 year old who simply was not contributing effectively enough to warrant a regular spot in the lineup. Sometimes stuff has to be done for the betterment of the team no matter the surrounding circumstances. Just go enjoy retirement and take solace in the fact that you had a great career from start to finish. Signed, Reality Check

Lol even in training camp people are getting angry that Cleary is on the "top line" there is literally three teams, all they are doing is getting back into game shape, it's not like it's the last 10 games and our playoff hopes are on the line here. Calm down everyone, it will be okay

This is a great point. Weiss was a disappointment and his name gets lost in the shuffle a bit, but his health and ability this season actually have a huge impact on this team. If he returns to form, the Wings are already MUCH better off than last season.

Apparently Tampa and Anaheim are better franchises than the wings, while Columbus is only one back of us. Don't put any stock in that article.

When are people going to stop paying any attention whatsoever to ESPN, especially when it comes to hockey? When I want to know about poker championships, I'll turn to ESPN. Look no further than their vote for the Number 1 worst team in North America: The Toronto Maple Leafs. Seriously? While they have indeed struggled mightily in recent years (decades), they are far from the worst. I don't care what the criteria was, ESPN is dead-ass wrong. As usual.

IF Alfredsson isn't ready to go, and it's looking more and more like he won't be, and IF Jurco starts the season in Detroit, I'd love to see our top two lines as... Nyquist - Zetterberg - Franzen Tatar - Datsyuk - Jurco OR Zetterberg - Datsyuk - Jurco Nyquist - Franzen - Tatar

I'm already sooooooo sick of this story. Until he signs a contract this is going to be one long, speculative, pain in the ass. Not because of Holland. Not because of Babcock. Because of media goobers who see the value of rabble rousing. Prepare yourselves LGW, this will get worse before it gets better.

It depends on why you're just making it. If the team is healthy and it's a talent issue thenajor changes need to be made. If it's because of injuries to all your top forwards then you need to look at the training staff.

Everytime I come to LGW and first glance at this thread's title my brain registers "Flaming Truculence" instead of "Flames Add Truculence". Which is funny...because I'm juvenile.

You make it sound like these are the only two choices. This barely missing (or is that 'barely making?') the playoffs thing is new to the Wings. I feel like if they can hold ground over the next couple of seasons, we're going to see them slowly moving back into contention. I like to think that 5-7 years down the road when Detroit can contend for a cup again, that I'll look back on the years leading up to this more fondly than I would if they had to be Buffalo/Florida/Edmonton/Chicago/Pittsburgh bad in order to get there. If they can pull of the rebuild-on-the-fly this time? That IMO will be Holland's legacy.

Here is an article about the situation: http://www.clickondetroit.com/sports/mike-babcock-on-detroit-i-want-to-be-here/28140818 Quote from Babcock "I think they want me to be here. I want to be here. We'll find a way to work something out," said Babcock. "Right now, you might find this hard to believe, we have other things to worry about besides Mike Babcock." The guy wants to be here, if he didn't he would simply say he doesn't want to discuss the situation.

    Mantha's Injury

While I love the Tatar-Sheahan-Jurco line, it would be awesome to see Jurco get some real top 6 time. He had a couple games with Datsyuk and they looked good together. I'm bummed about the Mantha injury and the blip in his development, but I also expected him to play mostly in GR to start the season. Additionally, I expect big things from Jurco this year, and would love to see him take the opportunity and run with it.

    Mantha's Injury

Sucks for the guy but I doubt he would have made the team. So let him get healthy and start in the AHL. Injuries will happen and Mantha should get a few callups here and there. Get well soon this Sucks!

Well that's a good way to throw out all the good will you'd built up over a career. I've got no love for Boudreau, he's a clown, but Selanne is apparently a petulant child in a grown man's body. Keep in mind Selanne had 9 goals and 18 points in 64 games last season. Lol.
