It's pretty obvious : They are trying to shop Kindl around to get fully rid of his cap. If they bury him in the minors that won't happen. I agree that Oullet should stay up from a performance standpoint but I can also see the calamitys Holland is in. Let's just hope we can get rid of Kindl as fast as possible. @T.Low Add Germany to that list.

    11/30 GDT - Canucks 3 at Red Wings 5

Please someone tell me we can beat the Canucks. I live in Kelowna, it's about a 4 hours drive from Vancouver. They have some of the most irritating goddamn fans in the world. Bunch of delusional band wagon jumping know nothing crybabies. I will be absolutely devastated if we can't beat them. Our goalie plays better. We have more heart, and they haven't beaten us in regulation in like three years. And my dog is wearing her lucky Red Wings collar and bandana (Dekeyser is her favorite). So someone give me some support, tell me how they will grind them out. LGRW

    Are the Wings a Contender?

And who knows what happens at the trade deadline if the Wings keep going the way they have been. Can't see Holland not making a movie for a right handed dman if the team looks like a legit contender.

    Saluting the fans

The saluting the fans thing is neither here nor there to me. I admire fans like those of the Leafs and those of the Lions and other teams who stick with them through thick and thin, through more losses than wins, good players, owners, coaches and bad. I think there's only very few professional sports organizations who really "don't care" and dump star players because they're too cheap and have no interest in building a winner. I know many believe it's as simple as getting good players, hire the right coaches, draft well, get the best scouts...but that's easier said than done. It isn't like the Leafs haven't spent money. I think if you want to talk fickle, arrogant and entitled fans, look no further than right here. Getting into the playoffs now has become a big yawn and it's wake me when we get to the Conference finals mentality. Who cares if we've won 4 Cups, we can't miss the playoffs, we have to be contenders for the Cup every. single. year. Every decent free agent must sign with us and if they don't fire Holland, what's that guy ever done anyway? In the late 90s, there were thousands on a wait list to get season tickets, now they're running ads during games to get your seats for this great up coming game and throwing in all the gimmicks to boot. Don't even get me started on the faux "sellouts".

    Mantha getting closer.

Pulky is now leading the AHL in scoring. 18 GP 23 Points. He's following the same steps as Tatar and Nyquist.

Mantha with an assist and 3 shots tonight. Pulks with 3 helpers and Callahan with 2 goals.

They had a bad start. Even happens to the best teams from time to time. I think the Wings taking over the game and tying it up speaks more of where this team is than going down 4-1 to begin with. The last few years that comeback doesn't happen and the game ends in a blowout. Now this team has the skill, depth and confidence to do something about it.

    11/30 GDT - Canucks 3 at Red Wings 5

Looking forward to the first 4 game win streakof the season for the boys. I've got a good feeling about this one. It's a bummer about X-O Manowar being sent down, but if Smith is in beast mode, It may be for the best, as I think Ouellet needs to play big minutes, and with the confidence gained from this callup he may become dominant for the Griffs, which will elevate his play when he comes back up.

Well well well....a fellow Wings fan in Kelowna! Its nice to know I'm not alone! and yes, the Canucks fans around here are some of the worst fans in all of hockey.

I will say this this, when we play against Ryan Miller, we tend to bring our A game. I don't know if it's just that drew wants to beat his brother so bad and the whole team rallies around that, or what. We should win though, but don't discredit them, or underestimate them, they are the highest seed in the league.

They're already in striking distance. The only team cleanly above the Wings right now is the Lightning.

Honestly, I can't imagine any scenario where this happens. Kindl's going to be moved, that much is certain. I seriously doubt the team moves Ericsson, and I imagine they're going to let Quincey finish up his contact, unless they're in a poor situation at next year's trade deadline. I can see the team starting the season after with something similar to this, but I don't see them breaking up the D-corps that much during next season. I think one of those four prospects is going to be left out of that group, with Ericsson maintaining his spot.

Maybe if San Jose completely tanks, and somehow we acquire RH Dman Brent Burns without giving up too much. :-) It's not like the youth don't know how to win. You can't discount the Calder Cup. That's Andersson, Tatar, Jurco, Nyquist, Dekeyser, Mrazek, Sheahan, Glendenning. You can't TEACH that, you can't BUY that, it's a huge experience. Wasn't it Bruce Boudreaux who talked about how dangerous the Wings are when you combine the awesome veterans with a group of kids fresh off a Calder Cup victory?

Honestly, Quincey has played well worth his contract, and hell be gone after next season unless we unload one or two of our d prospects. The chances of any of the guys becoming better than Quincey is slim, let alone multiple ones. I can see three of them panning out, but if something happens and they don't, were at least in a position to be able to get by with what we've got. Xo is better than kindl and lash, that's pretty commonly accepted, but if we lose another guy or two on d to injuries where we once were deep we're now quite thin. And kindls value should increase closer to the deadline, which is why you don't want him sitting until after that. I'll be on the xo needs to play regardless bandwagon after the deadline passes if kh sits on his hands again, but something tells me if we can get a fifth round pick, or even a fourth out of kindl they'll take it. Tampa just got a 3rd for someone comparable to kindl, and the league LOVES our homegrown players. So something will be done.

In Smith's defense, he was very involved offensively and jumped into the play regularly during his first call up (I think he had 6 points in those first 12 games, or something like that). Once he officially broke the roster we started to see him play a more stay-at-home type game, but more recently, I think Smith has been bringing that aspect of his game back. Edit: actually I suspect we will see the same course of development in Oulette. His goal last night was the result of him getting a quick feed into the slot, but its not like he sneaked in the back door from the blue line. He was fully engaged in a goal-mouth scramble prior to the goal, then the puck bounced behind the net, and Oulette maintained his position at the crease instead of falling back to the blue line. It worked out in our favor this time, but you can bet Babcock will not want his defensman playing the offensive crease for that amount of time and leaving the blueline unattended like that.

You're right frank if we were talking about winning the cup. But rick and kliq talked about getting into the playoffs. We already played a lot of hockey and a quick glance at the standings with 7 points ahead on the top team not in a wildcard spot tells us we're looking pretty good. And not just because we're lucky or got weak opponents, but because the team plays excellent hockey and finds ways to win. We would have to pull a Toronto like breakdown to miss the playoffs. Predicting we hold one of the top 3 spots at the end of the season is bold, predicting we're making the playoffs not so much.
