6 pointsIf this was my first day ever on LGW and saw that THIS was big news, I'd probably never come back. Love you all
-
5 pointsIf I were Buffalo I'd claim him, and the next time I played Boston I'd finally pay Lucic back for running over Ryan Miller. Then I'd waive him again.

Nothing about this thread is disappointing me so far. Also nothing about it is surprising me either. God bless LGW! -

I'm not a Thornton fan by any means, but Shawn is a much better hockey player than Brian IMO -
3 pointsWouldn't that be great? If like 5 or 6 teams in a row claimed McGrattan the day before they played the Bruins just so Lucic could get punched in the face. I hate fighting, but I think I hate Lucic more. This is a toughie.

Weiss was our best player in the Edmonton game, he was one of our worst in the Calgary game. I think the back to backs caught up to him, which is why he played poorly in Calgary, but they have had a couple days off their is no reason for him to be playing on the 4th line. Give him like 5-6 games playing with Datsyuk and see what happens, you can't just randomly decide he's not good enough considering he dominated the Edmonton game. I know it sucks to say it, but Babcock leaving might help this team more then we think. I cannot stand his decisions the last couple years. Oh yea, Miller has 1 goal 6 points +/- 0 in 41 games. Weiss has 5 goals, 12 points, and is a +/- -1 in 18 games. Good job Babcock. We are really generating a lot of offense these days. -

Sad day for hockey, this league is quickly becoming something it shouldn't be. I hope he finds a place on another team, or a job in the front office somewhere. What af****** league it has a place for rats but no place for great energy players and like Burke said I'm sure all the ******* greenpeace folks are happy now. Of course the softest team - which not long ago used to have the HW champion - in the league willk pass so I'm not getting my hopes up. How the hell does Burke not step in here ? He is the president and should overrule the GM in that case it's a bad day for hockey -

Bacock on Pulkkinen's call-up last season: “He just didn’t earn a spot,” Babcock said of Pulkkinen. “I’m just in the winning business. Can you help us or not. “All players think they need more ice time to play better,” Babcock continued. “Coach thinks play better and you get more ice time.” Sometimes I love Mike Babcock. More accurately, I love how Mike Babcock gets the team to win. Sometimes I see a quote like this, and Weiss on the 4th line. Then I go, "Uh huh... sure, Mike. I believe you." I think it's more like, "Play the EXACT way I want, and I play you. If you're realgud and heavy on the puck... you make a mistake, maybe I turn the other way. If I don't like parts of your game, you'll make one mistake and ride the pine. Realgud bench warmer." Gah. -

From what I can tell, he's Dallas' version of Ouellet, in the sense that he's ready to play NHL hockey right now. And he shoots right. As far as the other three I'd say this: He's probably got more offensive upside at the NHL level than Jensen because Jensen doesn't have a great point shot...Klingberg seems to. He's an offensive defenseman, so the comparison to Marchenko is shaky. They're not really the same animal. He's probably got the same, or a little less offensive upside than Sproul. But he's ready now, and Sproul isn't. Also, he's much skinnier than Sproul and would need to put on weight to have the defensive upside that Sproul has. Again, just my assessment. I'd go to Nill with Ouellet and a 3rd to start the negotiation and go from there. Neither did I. I basically just looked up right shooters on bad teams, and then started unpacking the stats, ice time, scouting reports, and commentary on them. I didn't know much about the last four either...before today. But figured it would be a worthwhile endeavor to see what was out there beyond the usual Myers, Green, Yandle, etc. crap. -

Well I certainly am not against getting rid of the guy. Wouldn't hurt my feelings. I just don't see it happening. And if we did, and IF he went crazy for another team, good for him. I'd legitimately be happy for him. Wouldn't change my mind about buying him out one iota. I'd feel about that exactly how I feel about "losing" Hudler. Honestly, you probably could trade him to Boston right now. They're interested in getting help on the wing...and are considering Chris Stewart. So clearly they're desperate lol. -

Osgood was really really very very good that year. One of my favourite quites from that run was when Babcock talked about how switching goalies 4 games into a first round series usually meant you were done. I even rember not having much hope after game 4. Fortunately, that was not the case.
