This is really sad, but that's how it is in sports where hits to the head are common. Every enforcer from his generation knew what risks they were taking. It's too early to tell why he committed suicide. Maybe his life was in a bad state. But if they study his brain, of course it will look different than an average person's brain. The average person didn't get punched in the head as often as he did. BTW, for those who may not know, Todd Ewen is the only guy who ever KO'd Bob Probert. He played for many teams and had tons of other fights and big wins, but that's what I'll always remember him for most. Here's the video.

Right. Detroit has Datsyuk. Richards, Zetterberg, Sheahan, Helm, Ferraro, Andersson, and Glendening down the middle already. That's 8 guys who can play C. He's not going to get time because of C's being injured. It's going to be because he's just too good to ignore. Which I don't see happening. He's awesome, but to overcome the amount of depth we currently have he has to be the next coming. And I think he's great, but I don't expect that from him, it's hard to expect that from any player.

This. The only way I can see Larkin coming up is if another center gets hurt. Detroit has a ton of options down the middle - Datsyuk, Richards, Sheahan, Glendening are the likely centermen, but they can turn to Zetterberg and Helm as well. They won't call him up unless he's playing in the group of top-nine players.

This was more in line with your reply "Why do people think Tatar is better then Nyquist lol" post. To me Tatar was the better player last year, Nyquist the year before was better. My numbers above didn't even include possession numbers which Datsyuk and Tatar dominated and finish 1 and 2 on the team. Still think Nyquist will be the better player. Conclusion: They are way too close to call right now.
