Early game today, Dailyfaceoff.com projects the same lineups as last game, but with Smith on the third. Here's Eminem getting some of Jimmy's Good Luck Nachos for Detroit's win today. LGRW!

Wishing the Wings good luck today. I can't watch since NHL GameCenter has blocked almost every game on my subscription since January. It's a weird start time (yet again), poor Wings. I hope the last game was a big confidence booster and the energy carries forward to this oddball game today. LGRW!!

He posted this 4 times in two pages. He was trying to get someone to take the bait. But he's not a troll though. *eyeroll*

Dominated. Hitting posts, rags got a lucky goal. Outside of that, it's the best the team has looked all season.

Inability to put the puck in the net just kills this team.

If Philly can go into Tampa and completely shut them down there's no reason why this team at home can't do the same to New York. Hopefully Florida does us a favor too. LGW.

Any thread about signing a 6th/7th defenceman will turn into a Smith thread. Proves he needs to be replaced lol

Build on Thursday's game and come out like they did in the second at the start of the first and there's a great chance to grab another much needed win. LGW!!

I call bulls***. Just because someone is ringing your bell doesn't mean you have to open the door. You're talking neanderthal hockey. "Hey, you're ugly, I'm gonna beat your ass." We all know Abby's not afraid to drop the gloves. That's not what he's paid 4.5 mil for. He's paid to play a smart game, and he did.

Since when do you need to answer the bell for a good hit? This really frustrates the hell out of me. Maybe you open yourself up to get a good hard check, but fighting? That's what's bush league.

Agree with this. The hit wasn't dirty and it was a one goal game late. Don't risk anything and instead hope they call something on Winnipeg for being stupid.

It was a clean hit. The game was on the line. Not fighting was the right call.

    Matt

    Happy 20th Anniversary, LGW!

Thanks, guys! I apologize for not seeing this sooner. I've been out of pocket for the last couple of weeks due to the loss of a family member and just got back tonight -- and I have to say seeing this thread brought a smile to my face. Technically the actual 'birth' of the site is September 15th, 1996 -- right around training camp for the 1996-97 season and at that stage it didn't even have a message board. It was started on GeoCities and consisted of the cheesiest of tiled ice backgrounds, a picture of Steve Yzerman saluting the crowd from the bench after scoring his 500th career goal on Patrick Roy and a bit of text about what I was planning on doing with the site. I really wish I had some of the stuff from those first years. After a couple seasons on GeoCities the site moved to be one of a few fan sites on PuckPlace.com, then to a server that was hosted by the previous owners of HockeysFuture.com and then eventually to where it is now (and where it has remained for the bulk of those past 20 years.) I started this place as a bored 17-year old living in the sticks in SE Michigan and it has followed me to college, marriage, a career and two beautiful daughters of 9 and 10 (!). It's been crazy. Life has gotten in the way often and I haven't been able to dedicate as much time as I'd like to the site (and I'm always saying I'm going to get refocused) -- so I really, really appreciate the comments here and the help the moderation team has provided over the years. It's invaluable. Thank you!
