If Holland refused to trade Mantha or AA under any circumstances, that would be poor managing. You have to always look at how to make your team better. With that being said, I dont want to trade them for a d-man who is at the same level of a Quincey, Smith etc. I would want to trade one of them for a guy who can be a impact player and a top pairing guy for years to come. -

If I recall, when he was in the lineup, Smith did very well for himself last season. If we aren't getting a dman, I say put Smith on the top pair with DD. Jurco needs to be used correctly. He is an offensive threat. But not on the 4th line with Miller and Glendening. When he was with Sheahan and Tatar he did very well. I'd love to see a line of JURCO-AA-MANTHA. Shhhhhhhhhh! -

Agreed....I dont think many people would be complaining if we traded AA or Mantha for someone like PK Subban. Using Miggy is an awful example as he was an elite MVP caliber talent. -
1 pointSo you would trade prospects for middle pairing defenseman? There's no top 2 D-man in the league that's available for trade from what I'm seeing. Why stack up on middle pairing D-men? We already have a lot of those. And at one point, Cabrera was like the Ovechkin of baseball. Bad example.

We can't really compare Larkin and AA right now because AA didn't play 80 games at the NHL level. (or at all) Larkin started off blowing everyone out of the water at the beginning of the season, but he started to slow down. This could have just as easily happened to AA and I think we are going to see exactly what kind of player he will become this upcoming season. I think people really under value the ability of players to play 80 games consistently Having said that, I'm just as excited about AA as I am with Larkin. I think we have two different types of players here, but AA is probably the closest thing we will get to Datsyuk for a long time -

Takes quite a beating at the end there from Alexander Svitov. Gets a few in at the beginning, but doesn't really do much against Evgeny Artyukhin. So he's real comfortable running around taking shots at guys who have no intention of fighting back, but can't really hang with guys who are used to dropping the gloves. -
1 pointSome food for thought... this was posted in a slightly different context. Many of us react crazily to the notion of trading AA or Mantha, etc... but we often forget you have to give to get and their is risk in making trades. Below are two links surrounding the trade of Brent Burns, the first article is from 2011 and the second from 2015. The outlook on the trade changed considerably in just 4 years. What looked like a good trade for the wild, turned out to be a major blunder. You never know with prospects and unproven players. http://www2.tsn.ca/tradecentre/story/?id=369904 http://thehockeywriters.com/revisiting-the-brent-burns-trade/ Bottom line for me I'd trade any player on the roster including Larkin in the right deal, even Larkin may flame out in a couple of years.

1 pointI may be going to the Sweden vs. Russia game I haven't decided yet. Larkin's North America jersey looks pretty sweet. http://shop.nhl.com/Men_World_Cup_of_Hockey/Mens_North_America_Hockey_Dylan_Larkin_adidas_Black_World_Cup_of_Hockey_2016_Premier_Player_Jersey

Roy's anger issues always got the best of him. Guy acts on impulse and that's why he probably ended up rage quitting. -

Are you kidding? Sakic was basically Steve Yzermans hockey doppelganger. Saying Sakic is overrated is saying Yzerman was. The fact that Brett Hull physically grabbed and sat Avery down and told him hes not allowed to talk to "Mr Sakic" shows the level of respect that guy earned. Through the whole rivalry Sakic was the only guy you couldnt hate. Pure class. As for Roy leaving -

Sakic, overrated? Seriously? Why do fans that hate opposing teams have to hate every player on those teams? The Wings Avalanche rivalry is long over. Not a single player involved remains on either team. Why do people still hate them so much? I guess for the same reason they still hate the Penguins and Crosby... or should I say "Criesby"..... Burnaby Joe was a beast in his day and to say otherwise is flat out wrong... -

Sad News: ESPN's John Saunders has passed away
roboturner reacted to cusimano_brothers for a post in a topic
Sad news. I would see him do the sports on CITY-TV, Toronto ON and you knew that wasn't going to be his last job. I had forgotten that he was the original television play-by-playannouncer of the Raptors. The Saunders brothers: John and Bernie, Western Michigan University, 1976.
