I cleaned up a lot of the mess and sent our friend packing, but please, and I urge you, report content like this in the future and we will respond a lot faster than just stumbling across this stuff browsing through the forums. Matt doesn't pay time and a half for Christmas so yes, we were on holiday yesterday. I tried to not remove anything of substance but the last half page or so was just bickering so apologies if your post was deleted. Carry on my wayward sons.

Show me one semi-respected source with Evan Bouchard in the top 5. Hell I'll even settle for top 10.

I know it's late but merry Christmas folks. I hope you all had a good one. I know we don't know each other at all but all of us are still sticking around here despite the Red Wing's current downward trend (and if you're around my age, it's the first one of this caliber we've seen), and that means something! Kudos to my fellow diehard fans.

Before the day gets any older and we get any drunker..... lol. I do want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas! To our friends in Canada and the rest of the former British Empire, Happy Boxing day! Yes we all love the RW's and love to talk. The best part is most of the time we do so without getting all personnel. Thanks for another great year talking about the Wings! Hope everyone has a great time this holiday season with their friends and family!

It's cool. I type slow and didn't see the edit before replying. I was more confusion than anything really.

Nvm reread the post. Cholowski won’t be like Sproul or XO. He’s supposed to be more cerebral. Brain beats supposed hand skills. Time will tell.

None of that has anything to do with what I said. 5 years of mediocrity doesn't even put us close to league laughingstock status. It's just a normal down cycle that every team goes through. For the record, Kings missed the playoffs 11 times in 17 years prior to their Cup, not to mention had been mostly irrelevant since joining the league in 67. Boston had been mediocre or worse for 15 years. So was Chicago. At least try to be a little objective. Furthermore, no one is suggesting to rebuild strictly through the draft. (And by the way, Edmonton has plenty of UFAs and trade acquisitions as well.) We go after UFAs every year, and will continue to do so. Some people may not want Carlson specifically, and most probably don't want Cole or de Haan (and shouldn't, because they aren't notably better than what we have), but that doesn't mean anyone is against UFAs. Trades are another matter. We can't get the kind of players we need without creating other holes just as large. Best we could do is trade for prospects then hope they develop into something, but that strategy isn't anything all that different from drafting. Shuffling our middling players for different middling players isn't likely to do much either, though once we're sure of what core players we have that can be done to tweak things. But we're not at "tweak" stage yet. Anyone we move should be for picks or prospects. But the bottom line is 5 years of mediocrity and adding the pieces we have is doing very well, no matter what some spoiled fans think. Even just a couple top picks in the next couple years could conceivably get us heading back toward the top. It's pretty remarkable actually, considering we haven't really even had any particular luck in the draft.

I think he's projected to be a 3rd/4th defenseman but if we're lucky he could turn it up the next few years and who knows what could happen. I don't think it was a wasted pick. He has good size and I've read that his passing and skating ability are very good. In today's hockey, those are very important traits to have. For some reason though people don't realize that defenseman are not as easy to predict when they're drafted.

It's not that you don't meet my elite standards. It's just that you sound like an idiot when you post. Is that more clear? Good. I don't understand. Do you actually think your trolling is good? Here's some tidbits from your very own certified Troll Lover. 1. You should never admit to having another account. That just kills the climax. A troll always keeps his audience guessing. 2. You should never admit to what you're intentions are. Again, you keep the audience guessing. Bad troll. Bad. @Jonas Mahonas you have a new pupil to teach. We've got a newbie here.

Now now, unless you cite three reputable sources (in APA format no less) your opinion will not be considered valid here. There are high standards at play here and Blashill's incompetence will only be determined by a peer review process of the evidence.

Da Process is pushing them into a better shot at #1 overall. I'm ok with that right now.

First spin on http://nhllotterysimulator.com and this happened: Technically, it could be worse. Chicago is currently a lottery team, but the site is out of date. Just imagine the joy of Pens and Blackhawks missing the playoffs, but then them getting the first two picks and the Wings dropping to 7th.
