it's the mommas... they yelled at the Wings and told them to quit slacking, and that they are pampered and spoiled: https://www.facebook.com/DETROITREDWINGS/videos/1038701176472762/

I wouldn't hate seeing Perlini given a full game shot on the 2nd line wing over Glendening. He really hasn't had a chance in the top 6 even strength.

Yeah, the production still isn't quite where I'd like to see it, but he created scoring opportunities and was robbed point blank on several occasions. And like you mentioned, was a beast defensively, and played huge minutes in all situations. Overall, a really good tournament for Veleno. McIsaac played well too. I think he'll be a solid bottom four defenseman that can play physical, block shots and kill penalties. Seider was an absolute beast, and one of the best defensemen in the entire tournament in my opinion. I don't think there's much question he'll be a very good top pairing defenseman. The question is, will he be a legit number one (top 20 in the league)?

I dont think I would trade any of the young core. Constantly recycling players just prolongs a rebuild. Rather see SY fill roster needs thru the draft an free agency. Making a new hole to fill another doesnt make much sense to me.

You and Burke are too focused on the "days off" comment, which was obviously said in jest. Here is the full comment: https://canoe.com/sports/hockey/nhl/red-wings-dylan-larkin-doesnt-want-fans-all-star-votes Larkin was saying that there were more deserving players, which is why he didn't want to be voted in. Nothing wrong with that. As for Bertuzzi, totally different scenario. He was the best player on his team, and every team gets one player on the ASG roster (which I don't agree with BTW). So by that metric, he deserved to be there. I'm not living in a bubble. But I will stick up for a player who is a victim of having words taken out of context and then being unfairly criticized for it, when in reality, he doesnt want a reward he doesnt feel he deserves.

I was wondering why the Hawks were picking on Val, and then I remembered.... they are the Hawks. Enough said. Wankers.

I'll be here after this Eagles Seahawks game if it runs that late. I wouldn't mind a win tonight. LGW!

Veleno was fantastic at center, his faceoff wins were huge all tournament. His defense also impressed me, had some beautiful backcheck takeaways.

Why should this be considered a bad thing though? The All-Star game is a f***ing joke. You've even said so yourself. I'm not at all shocked that Larkin, or any other player would rather do literally anything, than go to that watered down, joke of an event. The only thing I'm a little surprised about is Larkin actually saying it to the media. I applaud him for speaking his mind though, and not being a robot, like 99% of the other NHL players. Larkin is having a down year (stats wise), so I don't really blame him for not wanting to attend the "all-star" game, knowing there are so many more deserving players this season.

kip was s***ing on team Canada's leadership group, Hayton and Veleno in particular. They were both great on the ice, and in the dressing room (according to teammates). Canada won the gold medal on the backs of those bad leaders.

Also, FWIW, I would say Larkin deserves some credit for the big season Bertuzzi is having (currently on pace for 60 points), as the two of them have been linemates for most of the season. If you put Lafreniere on Larkin's wing next season, a lot of people who are currently down on Larkin will probably be singing his praises. I'm not saying that as a pointed jab at any fans; rather, I'm saying plants need water and sunshine and love.

A Chelsea Dagger-less night was too much to hope for. And now there goes the lead.
