Watching Kane is crazy. Like, I've always known he was really good. But he's WAY better than I ever thought. That pass was unreal. Seider with another huge block and he gets the clear. I don't care if he's only a 1% corsi, I don't want him getting healthy scratched for Wyatt Newpower like some around here do.

Kind of what I’m thinking; if we picked Suzuki at 9, I doubt Ras would have fallen back where Suzuki was picked.

Everybody knows I love Rasmussen, so take this with a grain of salt, but I don't think that pick was a reach. If you look back at the first round Rasmussen is roughly the 8-12 best player and we took him with the 9th pick. Hischier, Heiskanen, Makar, Pettersson, Necas, Suzuki, and Robert Thomas are all definitely better Oettinger, Mittelstadt, Tippet, Vilardi are all roughly as good, so it's a pick your poison type situation when Detroit gets to the podium. Obviously in real life Necas was still available, but there were questions about Necas on draft day or he wouldn't have fallen to 12th OA. In a redraft he probably goes fifth. But I don't think Ras is a "miss". He's probably the 8th to 12th best player and we got him with the 9th pick. People are obviously welcome to prefer different players, but he was selected basically where he should have been.

You're misunderstanding the rules. The premise is that we either get lottery luck in the two years we had the best lottery odds (and take the concensus 1OA pick in both years) OR we never win the lottery but essentially have better scouting in any two different years during the rebuild. So you can't have Stutzle. You either get Raymond or Lafreniere in 2020, and either Seider or Jack Hughes 2019. Those were the only two drafts where we had realistic odds of winning the lottery, and in both cases there was never a single doubt that Hughes or Lafreniere would go first overall. So if we HAD won the lottery we would almost certainly have ended up with those players.

Andersson got hit by a car in Detroit while riding a scooter last year. Pass.

Don't get me wrong, I completely understand the appeal. He's a great player. I watch a lot of Calgary hockey dating back to last season so I've seen Andersson play a ton. He's really good. I think we'd have to part with a ton to get him, but given that he's under contract he'd be worth a lot too.

Andersson is a stud. He's also a righty, which I think we need more than we need help on the left side. Stylistically he plays a lot like Chiarot tho. He's more offensive minded then you'd think by looking at him. Not sure how those two would fit together. But that would be a good problem to have I suppose. Or just put him with Maata and leave Chia and Petry together as a third pair.

My hope for Andesson has been mentioned more than enough. If he is acquirable, this is the guy that makes the most sense. Again real quick, 2 more years on his contract at a great price. Hanifin would not only cost more to acquire (bidding war,) he's gonna hit pay dirt in July and would be too expensive. Chychrun, while younger, and he does still has another year left, will probably be more costly to acquire as well, especially being inner divisional. If I'm choosing immediate help in the top 4, and also moving forward, it's Andersson. Especially if I'm giving up Berggren.

How is it that half the league qualifies for the playoffs...but qualifying for the playoffs is this tough a grind? I mean honestly now. Who's the manager? I want to speak to the manager. I want to file a complaint. I'm not paying for this meal. The service was terrible. We've been on an unholy heater since January 1st and we could easily go to bed on Sunday night with 70 points in the bank...and I still won't feel comfortable. And the soup was tepid.
