I could never ever put into words how excited I am for this game for one big reason. I'LL BE THERE! yup first ever red wings game I'm going to be attending (hell my first ever NHL game was last friday lol). Keith barely edging him out, but I kind of agree that Lidstrom/Keith would be interesting to see if only for one game. Of note is that Howard has 31,000 write in votes. It should also be noted, 118,754 of the votes for Crosby, came from a 14 year old boy in a Philadelphia basement. The other vote came from Crosby himself (I have this on good authority, don't question me!!)

When we saw Pav and Z play together this year they really didn't look all that great. With Babs hell bent on keeping them apart, I've been wondering about whether or not they'll ever be able to recreate the magic. YT has 'Top Plays with Lecavalier and St. Louis' and I thought, "Why don't they have one of these for Datsyuk and Zetterberg?" So to the best of my ability and access to footage as a fan, I made one myself. Even though the NHL doesn't have footage stored from 02-03 or 03-04, I feel as if I remember those years fairly well enough that I'm not missing a goal when it comes to pretty plays between the two. When Z got his hat trick I went to the one by Great Lakes Crossing and they looked at me like I was some kind of psycho. "What's a hat trick?" No lie - they had to call the manager over and she said she didn't know anything about the offer. I had to argue just to get them, and as she handed them over she told me they wouldn't be doing it anymore. f*** Arbys.

In this thread you give your opinion on the Thornton hit saying it was "fine". Prepare for feedback on your opinion. That's like someone saying " I bet if Crosby was the recipient of that hit, there'd be a suspension" followed by you saying "That hit was legit and by the way Crosby is a little ***** and isn't even a top 20 player in the league". Then someone says "Crosby is a top 20 player in the league, what are you talking about?". You can't say "hey keep it on topic of this hit", if you are throwing in your opinion out there on the side.

Ok I don't think people understood my post. I understand the intent rule, and the inconsistency of the league concerning this goal and the Brad May goal. I was just saying goals like these should count, the puck was loose and the Penguin's didn't push the goalie into the net or anything. I'd like to think that would be a goal in the NHL, although I do understand the intent to blow rule now. My post was more in reply to the inability of the league to really consistently enforce the intent to blow rule fairly between all the different refs, having that goal decision come from one source is not a good idea and is just setting the referee's up for failure. And keep attacking me for the stance on irrational hate of Crosby, the post I replied to was really stretching to bash Crosby, I just was really interested what under that situation would you like for a captain of the team to do? I can understand disliking Crosby for many things, but this one I don't get. That's all.

I hope nobody from the Wings will be selected. Resting for two more days is way more important physically and emotionally.

How are you not Sidney Crosby's public relations director? Seriously. Firstly, there is no grey area in this instance with the Intent to Blow the Whistle rule, which I do hate by the way. However, the referee blew the whistle when he lost sight of the puck and before the puck crossed the line. That should not have been ruled a goal, no questions asked. I don't like the intent to blow the whistle rule and I hate not stopping play unless the puck is completely covered or you are fully sure, but what the hell is the ref supposed to do there, he has to go by his best judgment. Secondly, you've probably been told this a plethora of times and either do not get it, or you do get it and you purposefully ignore what people tell you and just contiunally enjoy getting slammed on. This is a Red Wings forum. They played the Penguins in the Stanley Cup Finals two years ago in recent past. The majority in here do not like the Penguins, if not everybody in here doesn't like them. Plenty don't like their captain all that much either. Not because he's one of the best players in the game at present, but largely because of his other attributes/lack thereof. He was voted the whiniest player in the league by NHL players, he's probably as equally hated in the obsessive fashion by fans across the league as much as he is liked. That does not equal being jealous of him whatsoever. That just means people get that he is a great talent, but dispise him because he acts like a whiney punk way too much for our liking. Got it? Get it through your head. If you want to like Crosby, cool, I'm not stopping you and I don't have a problem with it. Continually acting surprised though at the reactions you get when you are involved in conversations about him is incredibly naive and stupid, and don't pretend like you don't notice. See above why.

This is one of the most embarrassing posts I've ever seen on this board, and I've been here 2 1/2 years. I've seen trolls whose only purpose here is to post "LOL RED WINGS SUX!!!! DEAD THINGS!!
