That was a super d*ck move/hit it had intent to injure written all over it. But will Kadri drop the gloves? Beat down in Boston or Toronto? Based on last night it might only go 4 What about Prince Phillip's(reference from the Foxsports South feed of Preds cast) 3rd period. The dude basically put that team on his back and along with Rinne made it happen. It got a bit feisty at the end also so game 2 should be fun. Sometimes watching games with no dog in the hunt is fun but not a situation I want to keep doing year after year. Hear me Kenny fix my team!!

As a lad, my uncle Billy Bob used to tell me all sphincters heal in time. I think the only one that will end up in the rafters is Hank. Dats will be in the HOF, but not the roof. Federov's number would be nice to retire, but I just don't see him or Dats meeting the standard that's established there now with Yzerman and Lidstrom - skills, achievements, and leadership. I do think had Dats stayed out his contract, we might have a joint ceremony some day with both his and Hank's numbers going up. It would have been the perfect end to the twins (had someone played them together a bit more), but maybe I watch too many Spielberg movies.

Anyone else see Kadri doing his best Marchand impressions last night?? Holy s***, he better get multiple games. But part of me wants him to only get two so he's guaranteed to face Boston at least one more game. This series is already crazy. https://streamable.com/a1wtu https://streamable.com/7oh9q

There's no question Holland is saying all the right things. Now he needs to put those words into action. I'm hopeful, but he's disappointed me in the past... Cautiously optimistic...

Oh yeah, if Toronto plays like they did last night, it’s over in four for sure. Babcock is good at adjusting though.. especially when he has last change at home. If Toronto wants to win the series though, they need to stop trying to out-goon Boston imo.

He has a good debut , 1 assist and a +3 , hopefully he'll be in the home game finale for the Griffins .

Perspective is key here. When Daley was signed, Kronwall had been nursing a bad knee for years. He missed training camp due to back issues. There was no guarantee that he would even be on the roster this year. Green was on the last year of his contract and was a good trade candidate. No guarantee he was coming back after this year. DeKeyser had just come off of his worst season statistically. Ericsson was playing well below his contract again coming into this past season. So if we hadn't signed Daley, we could have potentially gone into the season with Kronwall on LTIR, DD and Ericsson having another bad season (You don't think having TD paired with E and putting less responsibility on DD's shoulders had anything to do with them both having better years? I do.) Mike Green, who would have been traded if healthy leaving another hole on D, Ouellet, Jensen, and Sproul. Welcome to Diarrhea on Ice. Plus, none of the kids were ready. This is exactly the scenario where you sign a "stop-gap" defenseman. To fill holes made by older players leaving or retiring and filling out the roster until the next generation is ready. If there was a situation where there was even one kid being forced to stay in the minors during even one year of his contract, then i would say it was a bad signing. It wasn't. Again. Even rebuilding teams need to develop a winning culture if they want to have any chance of becoming relevant again. It creates a better environment for younger players to develop within and makes a team more attractive to free agents.

Since Ras plays in my area and I've gotten to watch him a few times, I posted earlier this season that I thought the kid really had the potential to be a beastly dominant player but the points weren't showing that. He really knows how to use his size and reach to his advantage. I didn't know why the points weren't coming in even stronger for him, but I guess now we can probably chalk it up to his injury and him most likely rehabbing it and looking out for his health all season. Now that he's in the playoffs he's absolutely flipped the switch and gone full Franzen-postseason beast mode. Super happy for him, I knew he could turn it on. He may really be on this team next year.

Rasmussen having a solid playoff I can’t wait to see how far he’s come next training camp/preseason.

    Michael Rasmussen

http://whl.ca/article/americans-rasmussen-named-whl-on-the-run-player-of-the-week Calgary, Alta. – The Western Hockey League announced today that Tri-City Americans captain Michael Rasmussen has been named the WHL On the Run Player of the Week for the week ending April 8, 2018. Rasmussen, who was selected by the Detroit Red Wings in the first round, ninth overall, of the 2017 NHL Draft, registered seven points (4G-3A) and a plus-five rating in two games as the Americans took a commanding 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven Round Two series against the Victoria Royals in the 2018 WHL Playoffs. In the series-opening game Friday, Rasmussen had a goal and three points as his team won by a 7-0 result. The Surrey, B.C. product scored the opening goal of the game, having it stand up as the game-winner. He also picked up a primary assist on the insurance goal and a power play assist later in the game. He led a sweep of the three stars of the game and was also named the first star of the night across the WHL. A night later, Rasmussen recorded the first hat trick of his WHL Playoffs career in a 4-1 win for the Americans. Rasmussen scored the first, second, and fourth goals for the Americans, once again picking up the game-winning goal. He also had a primary assist on Morgan Geekie’s third period goal to factor into all four of the Americans’ goals. Rasmussen once again earned first star honours of the game and across the WHL for the evening. Overall, Rasmussen finished with five points (3G-2A) at even strength and two points (1G-1A) on the power play. The first two games have been a continuation of Rasmussen’s successful voyage into the 2018 WHL Playoffs. Through six games this post-season, the 6-foot-6, 221-pound forward has 19 points (9G-10A), featuring four power-play goals and a pair of game-winning goals. --- Michael Rasmussen exists to make me look stupid. I am ok with this.
