Smith and Ehn are two completely different players, Smith is a high energy guy and Ehn is a very, very effective defensive shut down guy. Id also like to keep our youth movement going and keep them intead of Abby, Helm & Glendog.

I think yzerman wont admit to failing both trades he did and erne comes back and if he doesnt make it he’ll just waive him one thing we havent talked about is if the ahl season is cancelled what happens to all these guys, cant imagine givani smith stayin home a year lets say, etc.... Yeah, pretty much this. I'd much rather have Loui Eriksson and a 1st round pick (or whatever other asset), and let a replacement level player like Ehn or Erne walk...

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't qualify any of Ehn, Perlini or Erne. Especially if he is "open for business" to acquire Cap and assets. Those assets could very well be players that would make those three expendable (even more so.) But I guess if he qualified them for the 1 year, he could always waive them if he gets more players.

That's my point. It just so happened that in each of those drafts, when it was Holland's turn to pick in the 1st round, the BPA on HIS draft board was a forward. And that's who he picked. The idea that Holland was deficient in knowing what his team's needs were and that affected how he drafted is nonsense. That's what I was objecting to. Also, I thought I read somewhere that Hughes was going to be Holland's pick. Don't recall where. And to save myself the hassle of looking for it, I will just go with it being Bouchard. Either way, it was going to be a Dman.

s***, I just read through the last few pages and i don't think i've ever laughed so much at anything on these boards. I know some get offended easily these days, but i'm old school and CRL is one funny dude.

He's not "dead weight". He's actually one of the guys that brings more than he's paid. These are the players you keep. Solid defensive forward (possibly the best on the team) and penalty killer and far younger and cheaper than Helm, Glenny, or Abby. Imagine how good he would be if his skills matched his hockey sense.

Overrated? He just turned 22, and is already a half point per game defenseman. He's easily a top four, with the potential to grow into a top two. He would be a great partner for one of Hronek or Seider.
