DeKeseyer and Quincey are known as defensive juggernauts because they're forced to play the whole game in their own zone because they can't pass the puck. I don't hold a lot of value in defensemen that can guard their own net well and not much else. Watching DD on the powerplay was embarrassing

Stack the pp and have the one unit play the entire 2 minutes.

Been wondering why we havent been doing this for years. We dont have the depth to run 2 PP's. Its not nearly as tiring to stay on when youre playing offence, these guys can stay out that long maybe with the exception of Z.

Larkin - Z - Abby

Green - Dats

Also, Pulkinnen has no place in the NHL, and never will.

With no Mick and Ken tonight, I put on the Canadian broadcast of the game. Once again I had to mute the TV! Canadian hockey broadcasts are the worst! I just get too riled up, and it's not worth it! I don't care what part of Canada players are from, and I can't stand all the constant talk by the announcers. It's like, being Canadian, they have to prove how smart they are. I've been watching hockey since I was 5, I don't need that much analysis. I want to hear the crowd, and the music played at the arena, not all the yap, yap, yap by the suits behind the mics. They ruin the game!

The problem with the wings is first of all they choose when to be desperate and when not to be. You could see it from yesterday to today. They play to their opponents level that's why there often in good games with good teams but lose to garage ones. Secondly this team lacks a pure goal scorer and it shows. They can't score goals to save their life even tho they do have quite a few skill guys. Too many of the same player. Scratch pulkinen even tho he is that pure goal scorer he just hasn't shown an ability to get into the right spots, and call up mantha. Play the guy with datsyuk and I think he helps. As well AA needs to play more

Yup, and both Rangers goals yesterday were the result of DD failing to get the puck out of their own zone.

Just got done watching...

What an embarrassment for every Wings player not named Mrazek (or Howard) because they couldn't find a way to put anything in the net against the worst team in the league. Couldn't even really threaten to score. Couldn't figure a way out of their own zone most of the time. And that was all still better then the power play.

Double embarrassment for DeKeyser since he essentially scored the opposition's only (and game-winning) goal for them.

I seriously do not understand why the Wings don't get booed at home during power plays.

What do you expect? Ken Holland operates like it is 1999. It's 2016. You have tied up gaggles of dollars on players that our past their prime. You are running a loyalty show...not a hockey club in the NHL with cap limitations in 2016. Your off season signings are over the hill guys. Your $6 million dollar defenseman can't even manage the puck behind his own net. You pretend like Jonathan Erickson is a first pairing defenseman when he is a 3rd pairing defenseman.

If I am running an NHL team in 2016, my core is between 24 and 31 years of age. Those are my highest paid players. Once a player gets beyond 31, I trade them for assets. Picks or solid young prospects. Or they take a pay cut and go to the bottom 6 or bottom pairing. You have to trade assets when they are worth something. It does no good to just throw guys on waivers and then trade them for a 6th when they clear (Kindl). The modern NHL requires no loyalty and constant reinvention. Players are better younger now because of modern training etc. You have to bring them up early and let them contribute early.

We lost tonight because the other team was better. Except for Mrazk, Larkin, AA we have nobody. Dats gives 100% but he is on his last legs. All those young guys on Toronto had more energy. They were quicker to the puck. They were more dangerous. They clogged up the neutral zone better than us. Mrazk actually saved us. Could have been 4-0.

Kenny is a disaster. He is like your old uncle who is using a flip phone while everyone else is hip to a smart phone. He has these ancient principles that he sticks to even though all the data points in a different direction. His house is cluttered with all sorts of maudlin memorabilia because he just can't bear to get rid of anything...and when he gets something new, it's like something he finds at a garage sale that reminds him of how things used to be...like an old useless 8 track player (like Cole, Zidlicky, Green, and Richards). The steady downward trajectory of this team since the last Cup is all on him. Notice the Bowmans are doing well. They know how to reinvent themselves even after they win a cup. Jim Nill seems to be doing well. Yzerman has things rolling. But Kenny is showing himself to be a guy who has not adapted to the NHL in it's current state. And this team is a joke because of that.

This might give them life going forward though. Wings always play down to the competition were probably pretty high on themselves for the come from behind wins. Imagine if they never pulled off those last two miraculous wins out of their arse. Could be looking at five straight losses

Least they only lost 1-0, but what a huge waste of an opportunity to grab 2 points. Don't have anything else to say that hasn't already been said. Just when you think maybe they've smartened up, they come out like this against the worst team in the East. Good show boys, you really want an early summer holiday eh? Jokes.

I dont know the dudes that call the games for TO anymore but the feed i watched the same guy called Datsyuk slow at last 12 times. Just seems that some broadcasts becomes way too clear who they're routng for, this was one of those for me.

In a game you cant afford to lose they get shutout by the Marlies. It wasnt even that close of a game for one that finished 1-0. Toronto was by far the better team until they decided to play nothing but defense the entire third. Even the the Wings never really looked like they were going to score. The teams play the last two weeks make you think they want the extra time off this summer.

Just found out the final score ... I'm beyond words how effed this is, lost to the Leafs 1-0 ??!! When we miss the playoffs by 2 pts, we can all come back to this game. Feel like slapping all the forwards in the head ... can't even score 1 on Bernier!
