I'm good with this, ideally would have been for 4 or 5 years but the market is what it is. With this term wishing even more we didn't sign Helm.....

Ok the term is too long. No doubt about it. But that cap hit is actually pretty reasonable. Just a few days ago I read he wanted in the neighborhood of 6.5 mill. The guy brings a lot to the table. Good faceoff guy, can set guys up and score, and most importantly is also a good defensive forward.

I had come to grips with the fact Nielson was likely our target after missing out on Stamkos but the Helm contract over signing an Okposso or Lucic is still stinging.

Who is he going to set up? We can't score Edited by kylee

Isles fans tell me he's a 50 point 2 way C who plays #1 pp and pk, while drawing the toughest defensive assignments. He's also one of the best at the shootout. Wish he was 2 years younger.

We should be happy next year with a 1st round exit. That would be a hell of a coaching job by Blashill. You have to think this is going to give the Ilitches more of a reason to "promote" Holland, and bring back the Captain to open the arena. They need some type of product to drive sales beyond the first year...
