    Sakic vs Yzerman Debate

hmmmm. Did Sakic ever take the puck of Gretzky's stick, skate it up the ice, fire a slap shot from the blue line, bar down in 2OT of a Game 7???? no? Okay I'll go with Stevie Y. Seriously though basically every stat favors Yzerman. I'll go with him.

    Sakic vs Yzerman Debate

Seems like everyone there just based their answer off of who had more points. Everyone knows Yzerman took a step back in his point production in order to become a solid player defensively, I cannot say the same for Sakic. I also think those results might be skewed simply based on the fact that other than Wings fans, most other NHL fans seem to dislike the Wings for one reason or another, while the Aves never really received the universal jealousy/hatred. Sakic is great, so is Yzerman, and their strengths and skill sets are completely different. Its true I'm biased as well, but I'd choose Yzerman all day long.

    Cap to $59.64 million?

Miller brings more than any two bit thug on skates do. He can kill penalties, hes a solid defensive forward, and doesn't cost much, and hes a hometown guy.

Tinordi is a better skater, has more offensive upside, is equally as big, just doesn't drop the gloves nearly as much as Mcilrath. He's a great leader, had a great combine, and has the whole bloodline thing going for him. Tinordi simply fits better in our system than Mcilrath would, and that's a fact. Everyone on here wants Mcilrath because he's a big meat head, stay at home defender/fighter, and that's something we've lacked for a long time (fighter part anyway). Kenny also loves to draft college bound players, and Tinordi happens to be heading to Notre Dame. That gives him more time to develop before a qualifying offer needs to be made. I wouldn't be the slightest bit upset if we ended up with Mcilrath, though I'd honestly prefer Tinordi.

    Sakic vs Yzerman Debate

I think some of it might be the hate for the Red Wings in general.

People need to drop the Zetterberg as the 1st line centre and Datsyuk as the 2nd line centre bulls***. Zetterberg has never put up more points than Datsyuk in the regular season and likely never will. Datsyuk is a superior defensive player and is (generally) better on face-offs. Do you ever wonder why the Red Wings always play Datsyuk as the 1st line centre in these scenarios? You shouldn't. Zetterberg's forte is the play-offs. Let him save his steam for when it counts. Datsyuk is too dominant to put on your 2nd line in any scenario.

Finally our very own Hall Gill! Yeah! Time to draft size before talent. I'm sick of winning all the time.

I'm actually kind of disappointed that the 07 Ducks are mostly gone. I hated them, but I loved to hate them.

    David Clarkson

I like Clarkson, but the Devils will have ample room to sign him. Kovie isn't coming back.

Him and Eaves are the reason why our PK went from 78 to 84%. We don't need a guy who spends more time in the box then on the ice.. our team is best when it can roll four lines not 3.5

Good news for the Wings. Hopefully we can fill the bottom of the roster with good, gritty, young players now.

Mcilrath does have some decent offensive upside, probably to be around what Brad Stuart is like. Plus he's as mean as Pronger, and as tough as Carkner. He's the type of guy who might not put up points but you match him up against the opposing teams top forward and he'll run him through the glass all game. He obviously has talent if some people have him going top 10. I'm still thinking John Macfarland at center could be a real possibility. He's getting Brendan Morrow comparisons and who wouldn't love a guy like Morrow on the red wings?

Holland Looking to sign an Enforcer

Well if not we can send Eaves and Abby to Bobby Probert's boxing school? And not Ericsson. His ass needs to learn how to play defense first.

    Eklund has lost his mind!

Brodeur has been on three Stanley Cup-winning teams, yes. The last was seven seasons ago. That season was also the last in which the Devils succeeded in making it past the second round of the playoffs, and four of the six seasons since have seen the team knocked out in the first round. Further, why do you feel his regular season and Olympics accolades have anything to do his history in the playoffs? While he is one of the better goaltenders of the modern era, it can be argued that Broduer's numbers have been significantly enhanced by the defensive system he has always played in. That said, he has been the face of the Devils` franchise for a long while, and I don't see the management dissing him by trading him so late in his career.
