my buddy was at the game and said he saw a few as well haha southern ontario is completely torn with wings and leafs fans who all hate eachothers teams so this does not surprise me whatsoever. Especially cause leafs fans can be very arrogant and stupid

This forum is very manic sometimes. One minute, it's "OMFG RAFALSKI SUCKS, AND HIS CONTRACT IS AWFUL!" The next, it's "OMFG, RAFALSKI MAY BE INJURED. WE'RE SCREWED!" Then it's "RAFALSKI IS BACK! THANK GOODNESS!" And then it rinses and repeats.

Great clip, Datsyuk's reaction to the penalty is classic! If the NHL was consistent, we probably would have won the 2009 Stanley Cup. Malkin would have been suspended for Game 3, for starting a fight within the last 5 minutes of Game 2, and the Pens would have had a to many men penalty called against them in Game 6 when they had 6 skaters on the ice for 20 seconds. I still think Pittsburgh's 2009 Cup is tainted, and probably always will. They got that Championship handed to them with a bow on it from the League. Plus I remember someone during the playoffs said the Pens in 75% of their games had the first Power Play.

I have faith in MacDonald. He's been lights out lately.

I wouldn't put too much stock in that. It's likely that a lot more people would have negged it. There's no such button anymore, hence it looks like you made a rather popular post. There are some posters who are happy he got injured, and there are others who frankly my dear, don't give a damn. I'm in the latter. I don't know why that upsets you that so many people don't care as much about Howard being injured, as they would be for a Datsyuk or Zetterberg injury. He's not as important to our team, because he hasn't played that well this season. Hence, no one is upset.

Really? The guy is being paid 700k, which some posters on the Howard watch thread wanted to point out to lower expectations for him. So to lose a goaltender who is a small portion of the cap and who's performance does partially rely on the performance of the team in front of him. Second, there were plenty of people in that thread who were upset at the injury and MacDonald becoming the potential playoff starter, even in the GDT. You are severely over-exaggerating things maybe one or two posters said. Well try not to get on your high horse about the discussion of the goaltenders (your rant about how pathetic the responses were in the injury thread was quite intense and silly) and maybe people won't call you out on it.

Hope Jimmy's ok, for sure. It's a rule in the CBA, I'm almost convinced of it. Something like Subsection 48.2, clause RW-G. "All goals scored while physically on top of the Red Wings goalie shall be counted, without possibility of review." On an interesting side note, Subsection 48.3, clause TH says "If Tomas Holmstrom is even in the same building as the game being played, regardless of his status or availability to play in said game, any goal scored by the Red Wings can be waived off as Incidental Contact with the goalie. A penalty can be imposed, solely at the discretion of the referee... ...and Gary Bettman."

Pointing out a freak injury involving a player wearing a visor makes about as much sense as pointing out a freak injury that occurs because someone was wearing a seat belt. I understand cages and visors are annoying and restrict vision, but they prevent many, many more injuries than they cause.

Can't wait for someone to bump this thread when an injury to the face happens to someone. Hopefully not a Red Wing. Pleeeeeeeeease?
