    Season-Long Lines Thread

Due to popular demand here on the board...I'm starting one official 'blueadams lines thread,' and I'm going to update it throughout the season (as opposed to starting 50+ different lines threads). Real Lineup: Franzen-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi Hudler-Zetterberg-Filppula Miller-Helm-Cleary Holmstrom-Abdelkader-Emmerton/Eaves/Mursak Lidstrom-White Kronwall-Stuart Ericsson-Commodore/Kindl Howard Conklin Blueadams' Dream Lineup: Filppula-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi Hudler-Zetterberg-Franzen Miller-Helm-Cleary Mursak-Abdelkader-Holmstrom Emmerton *Eaves Lidstrom-White Kronwall-Stuart Smith-Ericsson Kindl Commodore Howard Conklin ...Nothing too drastic. 1) I think Flip is better with Pav, and I think Mule is better with Hank, so I switched those two. 2) Brendan Smith is so much better than Kindl and Commie...come on.

I gave you a +1 for making a singular thread for the season. unfortunately, as per your other line threads, i probably won't look at them.

    Messing with the lines already?

I disagree. I'm 100% sure that this was the first time he'll be scratched this season.

    Messing with the lines already?

Really, is changing things up so as to put Pavel and Hank together ever a bad idea?

Ive never seen someone hold their forehead like that after a hit. Looks to me like he was trying to emphasize the head contact, and was putting on an act. And seeing him jump right up and engage in a scrum after how disoriented he supposedly was? I don't see how anyone couldn't say he was faking that.

I don't think that's the issue, Konnan. And what bill? The Wings have been making bank without a primary corporate sponsor for a decade.

    Red Wings Tattoo

Here's my second one. I'll try to find the first one but just so ya know the first one is just the Wings logo nothing special but I'll try to post it. For those of you who think you're to scared or can't handle it. I was born with heart, back, and leg problems. I've had more needles in me than a pin cushion from IV's to Shots, to Drawing Blood. Now there is no way to get used to needles even with everything I've had done and I never thought I'd be able to handle getting one than over a two years ago I met a girl that came to work for the same company that I did she had quite a past and a bunch of really cool tattos and of course I was defiently attracted to her so I figured I'd get a Tattoo. Maybe not the kind of tattoo that she'd be interested in. After all it was my body so I wanted something that represented me so I thought maybe we'd have a little more in common if I got some ink so I got my first Detroit Red Wings Tattoo and of course it never did anything for her. When I made the appoointment for it I was nervous than at the point just minutes before I was in the chair to get it done I had a moment of absolute terror and damn near bailed out, however I had already payed the $70 and I'm a cheap little bastard so I stuck it out and the guy was really cool he printed the logo than put it on my arm and started doing it and before he started he told me he'd just do a little at a time and we could take a break whenever I wanted. I didn't need to take a break and it was a pain that kinda felt good if a pain can really feel good. Now I got this second one in this picture for me becasue I thought it was cool. This one cost $120. I want 3 more Red Wing Themed tattoos two more on like my forearm from my elbow to me wrist with the words DETROIT on my left arm going from elbow to wrist and RED WINGS on my right arm the same way. But becasue I don't have a job right now I can't afford anything. So it's really not that bad at all. For some people it can kinda become and additction like a drug where it does fell pretty good. So for those of you that are a little scared if you really want one start small and you can always go back and get a different one. I'm not sure how to upload photos so hopefully this will do otherwise if you really want to see my ink send me a message and I'll send you my real name and you can facebook me and check out my photos of them. Thanks and Sorry Red Wings Flaming Tattoo.bmp

True. Not too many fans getting in trouble because they crashed their car due to the lifetime supply of shampoo and window cleaner they ended up with in their trunk. Amway>alcohol This post brought to you by Sam Bernstein.

Am i the only person who doesn't give a crap who our sponsor is? We are still the Red Wings. Illitch is still the owner. It's not like we are the Detroit Amways or play at Joe Louis Amway Arena. Amway is footing a huge bill. Without that massive corporate sponsorship, we'll start being less competitive. I know I don't want that, do you? Would you be ok not being able to spend to the max and have the best possible team possible? It's a sponsor. It doesn't change the team and no one outside of Red Wing fanboys give a hoot who our sponsors are. I can't name more than 2 or 3 sponsors of any teams around the league, i assume most can't either.

Actually, there IS something we all can do about it. The professional teams get taxbreaks, and our tax dollars for their buildings. The public universities get our tax dollars. They in turn sign contacts with merchandising companies that produce the shirts, hats, etc. that they count on us to buy. Well, almost, if not all of it is now made outside this country. If we all take a stand, and refrain from purchasing their non-American(and to our friends up North, non-Canadian) made products, they WILL notice. These teams and schools want us to support them, to spend our hard earned money on them. They count on us to support them, and we should demand the same. They make a lot of money from the merchandise sales, but they don't seem to care that it's not made here. I personally will not buy any merchandise, from any sports team, that is not "Made In The U.S.A." I am not advocating a boycott of their games. We are all fans, and should enjoy our teams. Just don't spend your money on anything else.

Maybe Matt can design an LGW shirt with the Amway logo with a red line through it.

Good for them! Includes selling bracelets and auctioning off game worn, autographed jerseys.

Yup it was fighting, not the death of a nephew causing severe depression, an accidental overdose on painkillers or a cocaine addicted lifestyle that did these guys in young

Embellishment has been a part of hockey a long time now. I hate it too. This won't affect suspensions, however, since replays will show that it was embellished and no punishment will be necessary.

I don't see why the NHL can't have the Lokomotiv logo painted on every helmet or something like that.

Yea that's definitely the reason. It's not every year these two teams play at the same time in October.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/836560-wade-belaks-death-is-no-reason-to-stop-fighting-in-nhl A pretty good viewpoint on the issue, I thought I'd share. I'm not saying the death's aren't tragic but blaming it on fighting is a bit much.

Thank god we aren't having this arguement about a soccer team. The Wings can be "presented by" Amway all they want, it's a sponsor and helps the club out financially. It's pretty hard to name a sports team that has no sponsorships, they need the money. They aren't gonna charge $300 dollars a ticket when they can charge alot less and have a sponsor put up some signage and a small audio blurb. Soccer teams have Sponsor logos right on the chest and Nascar's are covered in sponsors and nobody minds. It doesn't affect anything. We should consider ourselves lucky that Hockey is one of the sports that doesn't logo up the sweaters.

Without fans, a team wouldn't be able to operate either. I know what you're saying about investment in the literal sense, but as fans we do invest in the team through all the things you listed. Tickets to games, merchandise, and by watching on television, which increases ratings and brings in more ad revenue. Hockey is entertainment, and we're the audience. Which is crucial. I'm definitely disappointed that Illitch would sign a sponsorship deal with Amway, as I think the Red Wings (and Mr. I) are a class act. Amway is not, and definitely takes some shine of the organization for me.
