This is the most excited about the wings I have been in a long time. Finally a young stud prospect that the wings are going to give a go.

I have to disagree about 'needing' a sniper. Yes, the offense has been stagnant the past few games, and the PP has sucked most of the season. But in the first five games we scored 18 goals, putting us near the top of the league. Last season we were 2nd in the league in GF, only 1 goal less than Vancouver (and that with Datsyuk missing time, and Mule, Huds, and Flip having sub-par seasons). It is far more likely that the first five games are much more indicative of our offensive capabilities than are the last four. Acquiring a good sniper would certainly be great, so long as we don't have to give up too much to do so, but it's not really needed. We have 3-5 guys capable of 30+ goals, plus another handful capable of 20+, and several defensemen that can generate offense. We could easily end up leading the league in goals this year. I think you expect far too much from Kenny. Since the lockout we are the highest scoring team in the league. And that's with a down year following the loss of Steve and Shanny, and the injury plague in 09-10. Kenny has done a fantastic job, not just in helping us stay a contender every year, but doing so without mortgaging the future. Despite the lack of any top picks in recent memory; we are still a contender this year, AND we are in excellent position in regards the to salary cap, AND we actually have a pretty solid prospect pool. Of course our roll won't last forever. It may even end sooner rather than later. But to say the organization should have done a better job, or even could have (without both the ability to see the future and employ mind-control on other GMs) is pretty ridiculous.

YAY!!! I had called them last night and they told me that Center Ice wouldn't be affected by what was going on, but they were still in negotiations. I'm relieved indeed...not only do I like FSD (for obvious reasons), but there is a new show on National Geographic Wild about one of our local vets, called "The Incredible Dr. Pol". I know him, I know where he practices (right down the road from my house, in fact), and I know some of his clients. Makes for really cool tv.

Holland traded Avery because the latter did not have respect for the sport. The reason he is not on the team is precisely because of his awful attitude.

Personally I would break up all the lines in order to get something going. A Helm-Datsyuk-Franzen line would be something I'd play around with. Helm might not be offensively gifted but all he would need to do is give the puck to Datsyuk.

Hudler won't be on a top two line.

He should be here to stay. This kid is talented, he showed it in the preseason, he was a stud in college and he was playing great in the minors. Hope to see the best from him and for him to STAY in the line-up. We've finally got a young kid who could be a stud, get him next to Z and some powerplay time and we'll be talking

How does Kenny sign Kronner for so cheap yet Ericsson gets so overpaid. I don't understand.

I've loved White's play, hes one of the few that actually pinch in and rotate the offense. He plays an offensive defenseman well. He may have pinched a couple times and let his man get past him, but he has Lidstrom with him to pick them up. He fits perfectly with Lidstrom.

The whole crop of post-Yzerman era Wings have really showed a lot of loyalty to the organization. Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Kronwall, Cleary, etc. They're a great crew for sure.

Agreed. I think we got a pretty good deal on him. They even mentioned in the game the other night the the Sharks were pretty surprised by the contract amount White signed here, and one of the reasons they didn't try to re-sign him themselves was because they thought he was going to want a lot more than he signed here for.

White is a different type of player than this team is. Ya, he has slipped a bit since the 5-0 start, but liek with any losing streak, you are going to find things to nit pick about with everyone. White not an exception. I hope when Commodore comes back, this team has already turned it back around because then people are gonna start blaming him as well. I think White and Commodore is what this team needs on defense and with the possiblity of Smith being ready next season and the hopeful pursuit of Suter this defense is gonna be a whole lot different next year than in years past. I hope Ericsson changes, but I doubt it and if not, I'm trading him. I'm re-signing Kronwall, Stuart and Commodore as well and if I can, I am trading Kindl Suter - Kronwall White - Stuart Smith - Commodore
