Just sayin, this team has too many small skilled forwards to know what to do with. I didn't say anything about fighting, but 6'2" 207lbs. that hits and battles for position in front of the net, or clears the net would be nice, but we are talking about Ken Holland, so your guy will probably have a better chance of being here than mine...

Suspended indefinitely for a clean hit. 1. he should not be skating with his head down in that fashion in that area of the ice, 2. he is way low which makes it look worse, but he did it at the last second. halmo will probably be suspended for life or something ridiculous like that. last year this clean hit got 20 games:

I know that I'm a) resurrecting an old topic and b) replying to myself but I saw one in person last night. I went to the Griffins / Marlies tilt last night and spotted some guy wearing a Lightning jersey across the ice. I didn't think anything of it until I passed him on the way out. It was an Yzerman jersey with a GM wear the C would go. The worst of it is, across his chest there appeared to be some sort of corporate sponsorship logo. I'd hate to think that these things were ever a give away of any sort. I feel like I must look into this more, despite how painful it may be. I tried to take a picture of it, but since it's pure evil it didn't show up on camera.

Wow, I've never heard that before! I've heard Moore was one of, if not the biggest, jerk in the league at the time, this just proves it!

Moore had it coming ... and if Bert never did that he'd likely still be in Vancouver. It took him years to regain some of his old form after the hate he had to endure for years after that incident. There have been countless sucker punches by goons and by players with marquee names over the past few decades - Bert/Moore was a freak accident and the 4 Av's that dogpiled on him immediatley after are likely just as responsible for his injuries. Oh, and Moore was cleared to resume playing in 2006. He was in shape and offered a contract by Anaheim in2007 and turned it down because it would hurt his 38 million dollar case against Bert.

I can honestly say my first thought before reading anything more than the title was in 2010... but not the final. Instead I would rather change the earlier round between Nashville and Chicago. The infamous Hossa no-boot. If they just kicked him out of the game like they did to Ovechkin earlier in the year, he isn't there to score a game winner. I would have loved to see Nashville win that game, and if they did I say with 95% certainty that every subsequent series would have been different. That stands out to me as one of the worst blunders in NHL history.

This teams doesn't need a call out...it needs to get healthy. Everything else will fall into place once that happens.

Both are legit hockey hits. The difference though is that kids play in the OHL, and Hockey Canada has a moral responsibility to protect them even if that overrides some fundamental game rules.

A 5th cup would have been amazing, but the only regret I have from 2009 is that Ozzie didn't get the Conn Smythe. I'll forever say that Cindy and the Pens were handed that Cup, they didn't win it. Malkin should have been suspended for Game 3, and there should have been that to many men penalty called in Game 6. Bettman's dirty finger prints are all over that 2009 Penguins Championship. It would have been great to win in 2006, but I still think if we're only going to win one Cup since 2002 with this team, 2008 was the year. Ozzie won the #1 spot back, McCarty made his return, and Yzerman had his hand in that win too as an assistant to Holland. Story book finish if you ask me.

Is anyone else sick of reading Babcock's post game comments? " I thought we were good for 2 min in the second, we didn't start on time, they played good, we only had one line playing" etc. I wish that he would call this team out or at least those who are simply collecting cheques and not giving a crap. Forget the PP. This team does not compete on a nightly basis and that is becoming a huge problem. Have you ever watched a Wings game and had a pretty good idea what the outcome will be 5 min in? Mike Babcock is a great coach but he needs to inspire this team. Say what you want about Ken Hitchcock but the Blues are playing inspired hockey right now and that is a lot to do with coaching. Getting the boys all back healthy will be a big help but this team has been lacking drive all season. So I think its the coaches job to turn this around now or face a very early playoff exit.

No Cleary has sucked all year and continues to suck. Furthermore, anyone he plays with this season sees a drop in production as well... Hell he even slowed down Pasha at the beginning of the season!! Then Pasha gets moved away from Cleary and he ignited... Cleary sucks this year and needs to not play.

He's not back yet. If Dats gets 2 points in his return then they might have a headline...Its not like Dats missed 90 games because of a broken dome like kid the sid did. All you haters made Crosbby famous...but in all reality, Crosby is the best player in the league, hands down..and he's still only like 15 years old. I'm glad Datsyuk is back, but can one player solve a whole teams scoring issues? I guess we'll find out.. Maybe Franzen sits with his back spasms and Nyquist gets the nod, Bertuzzi-Datsyuk-Nyquist Fil-Z-Hudler Abby-Helm-Miller Holmstrom and whoever those 4th line guys are. Pretty solid looking lineup on paper.
