    Iginla

No chance in hell Nysquist is out, especially for an older player. Iginla would be great, but they won't mortgage the future for instant gratification.

Iginla: 7 million dollars a year, on the downside of his career and will require some type of large return back to the flames? Hell no.

As swiss, I'd love to see Brunner wearing the winged wheel! In our league he is one of the best. He is young, he can skate and he has good hands. Come on Kenny!!

    2012 Lockout Watch

Agreed. He sometimes acts as if fans and players are an inconvenience to running a hockey league.

Agreed. Clowe would be a fantastic addition for the Red Wings. Obviously Parise should be the main target, but imagine what injecting both Parise and Clowe would do for the top-six. No more having Datsyuk lug around Franzen and Bertuzzi. Clowe's combination of size, skill and energy is something the Red Wings are desperately lacking. We know Babcock loves having a big body on each line and sadly he hasn't had much to work with in that regard. Bertuzzi is big, but shouldn't be playing in the top-six. Franzen plays like he's Hudler's size and Hudler at least tries but is too small especially for playoff hockey. That's half of the top-six right there and we wonder why Pavel, Z and Filppula look like they have to create everything on their own most games. Having Clowe around to open up some ice for the skill players would be a huge benefit. Plus, he isn't scared to go into the tough areas of the ice to compete. The Red Wings need more of that in large doses. I would take Clowe in a heartbeat. I will live with some penalty minutes when you consider all of the other positive attributes he brings to a team. Besides, Bertuzzi is extremely undisciplined. That's a silly argument for not wanting Clowe around.

Agreed. Look at the weber incident. Shanahan said he called and asked if z was hurt, then made his decision. Thats bulls***. If you break the speed limit you should still be punished even if u didnt hurt someone.

Not defending this guy but that wasnt homophobic... Thats a harsh accusation to make.

I read somewhere that replacing Holland will instantly make Lidstrom, Datsyuk and Zetterberg 5 years younger!

Red Wings make offer to Damien Brunner

I think you are going to have a meltdown when Holland doesn't land Parise. I don't think our chances of getting him is any better than many other teams out there that will throw huge offers at him. I wouldn't be surprised if he wants to stay in NJ with how good they are this year.

Lol wut? Making an offer to this kid has absolutely nothing to do with Parise. Even if you (incorrectly) assumed there was only one spot on the roster your rage still doesn't make sense. The only way your response can be interpreted as anything but a spastic, thoughtless reaction is if you believed the Wings were at 49 out of 50 on the contract limit AND trades were illegal.

    Kronwalled at the Worlds!

Kronwalling needs no reason or purpose, it is above all of that. That Latvian should accept his gift with honor. Kronner just gave it to him wrapped in a freight train and now everyone in his village will be talking about how he got to exchange pleasantries with a real hockey player.

He's Kronwall and is just letting people remember that he is indeed there to play. Thanks for posting op.

    Iginla

Iginla is exactly what we need. He is a sniper and would provide some much needed toughness. Nash would be good too but more expensive salary wise and for compensation in a trade. There is a lot of speculation that both will be available for a trade and that the Flames will go into rebuild mode. I would part with Nyquist, Kindl and a first for Iginla but unfortunately it will probably take more than that for a 34 yr old who is in the last year on his contract for a team that probably won't make the playoffs next yr and will probably move on after that. He could probably score 50 goals again playing with the Wings and brings a lot more of what the Wings need than either Prise or Semin

I'm as tolerant of a little bit of homophobia as I am tolerant of a little bit of racism. Which is to say, I'm not tolerant of it at all.

Okay if you want to be a stickler and take it in its worst possible meaning then yes, it could. But labelling someone a homophobe is pretty harsh based on that.

read it again, it doesn't say pull YOUR dick out of your ass, it says pull THE dick out of your ass.

telling someone that there's something wrong with their head because they have a dick in the ass isn't homophobic?
  22. 0 points
Awesome, not only are your comments extremely boring and full of gross over exaggerations, but now they're homophobic too. I can't help but wonder if you're as single minded with your bigotry as you are with your hockey analysis. p.s. I hope the moderators have something to say about this and not implicitly condone hate speech on this forum.

Just a few things. 1. Rumors are Suter and parise will be over 7.5 million each. 2. Ericsson has a no trade clause. So does Burt and Dat btw.... 3. Helm and Abdelkader will both be around 2 million. Somewhere in the 1.8-2.2 range for each. 4. Quincy will be 3.5 million or more. 5. I do hope that Nicky and Hommer call it a career so we all can move on.

    Kronwalled at the Worlds!

What's the point of that hit? Sweden's winning easily. Latvia has no chances to advance further. No necessity to swing momentum here. I just don't get it.

Correct the title, "Grand Rapids Griffins make offer to Damien Brunner."
