Agreed. Commodore is a whiner. He's also got a terrible memory. Let's go down the list. The Wings started with six wins and six losses, not five and seven... Ian White was injured on the 13th of November, 2011, and Commodore was played only one game in the immediate future---not two, not three---and he played seven minutes, not three.... Commodore played three days before Christmas... Brendan Smith was Babcock's single minor-league call-up on defense in that season, and he played with the team for only four nights (three games) in 2011 (he was then sent down until March)... and so on. If Commodore's going to spill his guts like this, he really ought to ensure first that he's got his facts right.

You have no idea how much posts like this make me smile. Facts, stats, and solid discussion based on them. I hoped Commie would succeed here. When he didn't, I was glad he got a chance in Tampa. We had to bring up Smith for a look-see. We're like that with out future players that are ripening. If you get hired as a 7th defenseman, and you don't play yourself into a higher position, you're going to end up with 7th defenseman games and minutes.

The stuff that he said about his time in Columbus made it seem like he likes to blame others and make excuses for why he isn't playing. After reading that I had a harder time believing his side of the story of his time in Detroit. I also don't remember him standing out when he played. But who knows.

Update on Pekka Rinne:Preds GM Poile on Rinne: had MRI this AM. MRI has improved. Doctors are happy w/ progress. Dec 20 is target date for more strenuous work Pekka will be out rehabbing for at least 2 more weeks. Looking for Dec. 20 to start heavier workload. Preds GM Poile on Rinne's conditioning: Hopefully, on Dec 20, that will be the topic instead of his progress.

We are arguably missing our 3 best forwards this year and our best d man ( kronner has been good too) at the same time. We still beat these guys. Wings - 9 ( Nyquist 3, Alfie 3, Bert with a FG ) Devils - 2 ( Brodeur 2 )

I doubt it has anything to do with the East, teams like Anaheim, San Jose, Nashville, and Vancouver always played us a lot tougher than most of the teams in the East have this year. Other than the Datsyuk injury, we shouldn't be surprised that Z or Helm got hurt, it sucks but it's not a shocker.

Every single season the Wings have injury problems like this. Excellent prediction...

before the season started I mentioned something about "we are going to struggle offensively, we would do well the first 30-40 games, then the size and toughness factor in the east would catch up to us". Z's back is something he will deal with for the rest of his career off and on. Glad he signed for 7 more years! Helm just doesn't have the size to hold up for the type of game he plays. Sorry to be rude guys, but this stuff was predicted and we were warned. Flame away......

I would have said Howard was above average before this season. He hasn't "stolen" and games I can think of this season - which a starting goalie should do from time to time. Within this CURRENT team - Howard is an average goalie. I argue that Crawford would look just as average if he played on this team - neither are top calibre goalies in my mind.

Every impact player on this team is missing time. Meanwhile Dan Cleary and Sammuelsson might play a whole season for the first time in their careers
