I don't understand how people really think Pasha would rather go to the Olympics in "non game shape" and a month + off instead of playing and going in "in game shape." Pavel Datsyuk would want to go into the Olympics at the top of his game and full steam, not go in after not playing a month plus. So no I don't buy the crap that he is faking an injury. I do believe he wants to make sure he is a 100% healthy before he plays so that he doesn't end up hurt again in a week and miss another month.

A lot of dicks on this forum. Kid played his role and didn't ***** when he was yo-yo'ed back and forth with the minors. He might not be the most amazing player by any stretch of the imagination, but at least he shows up, shuts up and does his job. I'm more appreciative of what he's done for this team, as little as it may be, than I am of what Cleary and Sammy have done this season (which is even less). But, then again, he doesn't score 20 goals with 5 minutes of ice time, so he's a mediocre piece of garbage....who makes league minimum I might add, not 1.7M or 3M.

Nyquist and Tatar are really carrying this team of late. Thank God. Where would we be if Tatar and Nyquist had turned into busts like Brunner and Brunnstrom? Let's just take a second to really appreciate how we lucked out that they are legit players in their rookie years.

I'm down with firing Babcock. Best coach in the league, but pretty clearly losing this locker room. Yeah, I know, injuries, but the guys who win the Jack Adams are the guys who make contenders out of injury-ravaged lineups (e.g. MacLean last season, John Cooper this season). Even with the injuries we have, we've got enough talent that we shouldn't have to get on our knees and pray for a regulation win every single night. We've become underachievers, and it's pathetic. He was waived too. Maybe they'll be picked up by the same message board and live happily etherafter. Seriously, for all the crap Emdog got, he wasn't all that bad. I was actually relieved when he got called up this year because it was someone who already knew the system and the players. He fit right in without having to go through freshman jitters. Good call up, just not good enough to be here all the time.

Of course the fluids are flying around here for the young guns. But I have to say, hats off to the captain. Zetterberg is a glorious beast. Very few players in this league have the will and drive-train that Z has.

Sure could use Datsyuk. He must really be hurt since he hasn't played since that awesome Winter Classic game. I would trade Aldredsson and two Weiss' for Jagr. This team is not gonna get it's s*** together with all these god damn distractions. Olympics, outdoor games and and injury bugs that spread to 9 guys at a time.

Brouwer could have had goalie interference, but thank god Ovie's controller disconnected half way through the one-timer.

Exactly. Missing on Suter was the start of it all. Imagine if DeKeyser had not grown up around Detroit and chosen the Red Wings. They just don't have the talent right now to grow from within on defense. Plus it doesn't help when you give up a first rounder and then re-sign Kyle Quincey as your move to bolster the defense. Holland is gonna have to get creative this summer and actually make a trade for a quality d-man.
