As I said in another thread, I'm thrilled, as we all are, at how this has all worked out with Cleary, Sammy and Bert riding the pine (and outta here next season) and seeing the kids thriving with the big club. But Babcock "boldly" stating that they're good and have jobs, yeah, well the grass is green and the sky is blue. He was basically given no choice but to play the Griffins. They excelled because they weren't brought up and put on a 4th line and given 5 minutes a game. They had to log a lot of minutes and each and every one of them took the opportunity and ran with it.

I think with Trotz, his family situation will come into play. With his son having special needs, it makes it that much more difficult to change schools, cities, etc. He seems like a genuinely good guy and a good coach to boot.

Nyquist missed an absolutely wide open net after some baby Euro twin magic, and Legwand failed to bury one into the empy net too. Lashoff has been awful and Howard has let in 2 goals on 8 shots. The Wings are actually outplaying them, so if they can capitalize on some chances, they will be right back in it. They look like they do not care about this game at all though. Apparently they are preparing for Boston.

Pathetic. Nothing like anchoring your best player with a lazy winger on one side and no-skill winger on the other. Put Jurco back on the kid line instead of Gus or up with Pavel. Abby needs to skate around and hit people on the fourth line, not be asked to play a first line role. Just not a fit at all.

These coach of the year awards are pretty stupid if you ask me. Most time the most deserving coach never gets the award. Even though I think Babs deserves it, I still think he gets screwed.

I said it before and i'll repeat it again, Ryan would be another Franzen on this team. He floats, plays like he doesn't care for half the season, and would turn into the whipping boy here rapidly because of how streaky he is. I believe 2 seasons ago he went 40 games without a goal, and had something awful like 6 assists in that span. He was kept out of the olympics for a reason, glad we passed and we didn't get another lazy, uninspired player here.

No absolutely not. Roy is an outstanding coach, obviously look at the team. But the fact that Bab's has had to deal with 400 plus man games lost to key players and they are going to the playoffs is the reasoning for him to be tapped as the Jack Adams Award winner for 2014

Datsyuk never said a word to the ref. He just went into a glide behind the net. He likely knew that a call was on it's way and hence floated away. When do you ever see Dats say anything to a ref? If anything, Z is the vocal one but he's freakishly intense, not whiny. It's really all about how you play out the situation. If you come across as a whiny idiot, the refs don't listen, and especially if you whine constantly about everything. Take Tuzzi for example, he gives the ref an earful every time he gets a penalty. The likes of Dats and Glendening don't say a word. Crosby also ******* about every single call that goes against his team. Hell, he pisses and moans about consussions, yet he never said anything was wrong with Cooke's hits to peoples heads. Z complains about bad calls and he skates off quietly when he deserved the penalty. It's perception I guess, but many perceive Crosby as a whiner where they don't perceive Dats and Z as them. Toews better be careful before he gets the label as I stated in my last post. I think another good example of the Z like Captain is Backes, where he's the intense guy that knows when he's been had on a call and skates silently to the box when he's been caught red handed.

I'll allow it, nothing wrong with a bit of healthy Crosby bashing before a game against the Pens and the potential first round of playoffs, just keep it civil. Hell will be unleashed in the Photoshop War if that's how it pans out, Crosby will receive no mercy from me.

The game Crosby sucker punched Zetterberg and then complained after the game that Howard had no business coming in and face washing him because it was a fight between him and Z was the day he lost whatever shed of dignity he had left .

The diving and whining is what bothers me and that he has his own set of rules. Crosby really hates playing Zetterberg we should take pride in that

This isn't bloodsport, it's a business. If your employer doesn't do absolutely everything in their power to keep you safe on the job, they're liable to get sued. Put it this way, just because you work in a coal mine doesn't mean your employer doesn't have to give you a gas mask, or pump clean air into the mine. Have we seriously taken such a step back in terms of labor relations that we think employees have no rights just because they "chose" to work in a particular industry? Would any of you be ok with it if your coworker gave you a concussion at work and your employer said "you knew it was a tough job when you took it"? Obviously not.
