    McGratton on waivers

Not to mention Babcock won't play fighters, the players who fought in the past stopped once they got to Detroit, and previously Holland has employed fighters. When the NHL started suspending people for clean hits

I have no problem with tough players, and I would actually like to have a player on our forth line that can throw 'em when needed. However, he has to be a hockey player first, not a pure goon that can barely skate without one iota of hockey IQ... I hate staged fights, and guys that fight every single game, because they know that's all they can do to remain in the National Hockey League. However, the Weber on Zetterberg incident, or Cowen on Datsyuk incident, or Lucic on DeKeyser incident, or any handful of others, I like having a guy that can step in and let the opposition know, if you're going to run our guys, there will be someone to answer to. I loved when Ericsson went after Nolan for the hit on Helm. I'm not anti-fighting by any means, I'm just anti-players-like-McGrattan, that can't play hockey.

When was the last time Kronwall hit someone. Not that he is all that tuff... Instead we have our top talent getting in situations they shouldnt be.

Can't we all get a long. Don't forget we already have an enforcer. Our "powerplay" damn that lines so old and tired. Next time Weber smashes Hanks head into the boards for free. Don't forget we'll get ours on the PP. Oh wait if I recall there was no call on that play. Once again we lost that year as well. Fighting DOES have a place in the game. BUT you must be able to contribute elsewhere on the ice as well.

Because we're Wings fans first. We won't root for someone else. But that doesn't mean I have to accept every cheap piece of europuss that Holland has to stick on the roster. And if that's not enough, let's just say I want an enforcer on the team just to see kipwinger throwing temper tantrums and starting threads about how useless that player is.

Probably because we grew up Red Wings fans and they've only become "pussified" in recent years. I'm not going to stop rooting for a team because they're a bunch of *******, but I certainly have the right to mourn the loss of team toughness. And I don't necessarily want a talentless goon; I'd settle for Chris Neil, Matt Martin... even Lucic, or Proust. Anyone who actually still knows how to throw a check or stand up for a teammate will suffice.

Close. When I was a child I was a member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters. As luck would have it, premier NHL enforcer Craig Coxe had volunteered to be a member of Big Brothers/Big Sisters and I, being a lifelong hockey fan, was chosen as his "little". I was so excited that I was going to get to spend time with a real, live, NHL enforcer. No more gushing over hockey cards, facebook photographs, and in-game stills for me. This was the real thing! Never had I been more "pro-enforcer". Craig Coxe is generally unreliable. Both as a human being, and as a "big". That's why I hate enforcers GMRwings. Well that and because Brian McGuffin is "better at life than me".

I would not have minded giving a part-time roster spot to Big Ern, as opposed to Andersson. He's probably (slightly) more talented than Aaron Downey, and I don't think having Downey in the line-up in '08 ever hurt us. In fact, he brought a little more excitement to games and added some much-needed toughness. I don't think I've ever seen a softer hockey team than these current Wings. Maybe in peewee. MAYBE!

    1/10 GDT : Red Wings 1 at Capitals 3

I'm at the Dinosaur in Syracuse again, top notch BBQ has been a good luck charm for the boys. Let's Go Wings! I'd love to see Pulks light it up as well.

That's because Holland has pussified us for too long. I get the feeling that you grew up playing hockey and lost your roster spot to an enforcer.

To be more precise : That McGruffin can come back to hurt Lucic to make Lucic not hurt people any more. Apart from that you nailed it.

Somebody told him that a guy was giving away cupcakes in the crowd and he wanted a snack. He had plenty of time between shifts to eat a few.

So you want Lucic to hurt someone so that your enforcers are relevant? Am I the only one reading this?

How about Boston claims him, and he can beat the s*** out of Lucic in practice every other day?

Absolutely. I wasn't disagreeing with that at all. Just pointing out that the trades weren't all bad. I still think Holmegren is the worst general manager in the NHL. Way too many knee jerk trades. Polar opposite of Holland, which is why he is one of the best in the business.

I'm sure they're not too worried about it. If I recall correctly they've got a pretty good shooter too.

If anyone asks why you're with a Blues fan, tell them you just claimed her off of waivers and her new uniform isn't ready yet. They'll have a laugh, you'll have a laugh, and then you can all enjoy the game.

I loved Star Wars III. It is my favourite of the six. I also love Barry Manilow as much as I love Nik Kronwall, and you know how I feel about Kronwall.
